Hm... Still thinking about clonking that might happened with Pro Kit. I found that tread on vwvortex here and still have few days before installation. Any orgers with Eibach Pro Kit on their Beetle can confirm this?

Thanks

Oh man! ... whata day!
Installation completed
First impresion... IT'S AWESOME!!!!!
Corners and curves are straight lines now.
It's lower than I expected and somehow I like it a lot. Speedle seams to be happy and Zla ( my mechanic - worshiper of stock ) liked it and wanted to take it for a first spin. He got back with a BIG smile on his face and speechless . Then Sandra had a spin and got back wery happy. Then I drove home Buhuhahahaaaa
And that's without alignment
Big THANK YOU to Zla for staying up late (4 to 10:30 PM) just to get Speedle ready for GTG tomorrow and make me happy x10, and to Sandra for keeping us company and being fun and sporty

Pictures to follow (as soon as I can stop driving it

Thumbs up

Congrats on the lowering kit dude! Looks great!
You must show off some pics of the new height. Perhaps "before" and "after" shots

Thanks budd! Once I stop driving it I might grab a camera and make some pics. Speedle runs like never before and it's hard not to sit behind steering wheel all the time.

WOT!!

Time for updates
Last friday I got my hands on 40 sq.ft of B-Quiet Extreme sound dumpening material, and me being me, I installed all of it same night... well.. it took me close to 16 hours total but it's done
It was 1.6 mm thick and 1 feet wide roll made of sticky asphalt like material covered with thin aluminum. It's a sound dumpening material and what it does is it holds on to metal pieces and prevent them from vibrating and rattling. After I removed all the panels and carpets from the rear end of my bug I took it for a ride, and after I installed B-Quiet I took it for another spin and... man!!! watta diference it made. Overal amount of noise coming from the back is brought down for at least 30%, and that include road noise and engine vibration noise. Yap, your trunk is vibrating when you rev the engine. I am so happy with the results that I am going to cover the whole interior when worm seasson comes ( must be worm for instalation in order for material to stick ). I plan on purchasing another 100sq.ft of B-Quiet ULTIMATE and cover engine bay as well.

This is the back of the bug when panels and carpets are removed.

I started off with removing rear seat. Bench came off when I uncliped two metal clips under the seat but for upper part... well... first remove two bolts at the back of the part ( under the zipper ) and then flip the clips on the bottom sides using flat screewdriver.
I removed side panels next. Just pry them out and lift a bit to slide them off. It's that easy. Keep all the clips, you might need them later Disconect seat belt by puling up plastic cover and removing big bolt(1). Next is to remove speakers: Disconnect wires(2), slide off the rubber seal which is glued for speaker housing(3), remove screews(4).

Next is to remove central rear plastic piece on both sides ( the one with the power plug and trunk light ). There are 4 screews on 3 locations.

Size: 309.9 KB

Take them off just enough to disconnect electrical connections on both sides.

After that, remove carpets and clean all the surfaces. You don't have to go crazy on cleaning like I did, basicly, just remove grease and wacuumclean dust and dirt. I started off with door pannels.

Finished both sides and this is the result:

And, that's me, after 10 hours of hard labour.
I enjoued every moment of it.

Weather forecast decided to give us a nice and warm long weekend so I ordered another 100Sq.Ft of FatMat ( link ) and plan to continue with my noise killing project. I found a dealer in Oakwille ( close to Toronto ) and there is no tax, no shipping cost, no customs and I can pick it up tonight. This should be enough to complete the whole car

Awesome install and pics! Hope the weather holds for you to finish your project The Oakville dealer sounds interesting, is this a one time deal or can you share the contact info? (I'd love to do this next summer)

Thanks Ewa, I am so proud Yes, I am continuing with mu project. I did front doors yesterday, fairly easy and not too much material used. Great results. Today I am hoping to finish the floor in the trunk and under rear bench, and may be the hood.
Feel free to drop by and see the progress just give me a call before you leave.

As for insulation material ... well... I purchased 100sq.ft and I know there is going to be extra left after I am done so I might be selling it. I can give you a contact for Oakwille dealer, no problemo

Cheers

My control arms bushings are busted. I had a fender bender couple of weeks ago where guy hit me from behind while I was holding down the brake pedal. He pushed me at least a foot ahead and I hit the dude in front of me and left my front license plate in his fender ( that looked weird ). I thought I was lucky to get out of there with only 2 paint chips but now I can feel there is a gap in steering system somewhere up front when I apply brakes or hit a bump. After lifting the bug and performing a close inspection I found out it's the rear bushings on both sides of control arms. They broke in half even though they are only less then a year old!! I am gonna replace rear and front bushings with Audi TT control arms bushings sometimes next week.

Nice bug, and great idea with the sound deadner install.
I'm also riding with the same 15" jetta wheels.
Did the swap b/c the stock 16" were killing me.
My suspension is totally shot, the springs clunk and boing all the time. Worst is the bone jarring jolt and rattle after all the pot holes here in the burgh.
Can the kyb/eibach setup handle heavy pot hole ridden roads and still ride soft/comfy/nonjarring?
Any suspension suggestions for someone with a broke wallet and almost broke spine?

Can't wait to hear about the improvement after the tt control arm install.
Thanks
For most comfortable and low priced suspension I'll say go with stock. Make sure you replace all of the bushings, bearings and mounts on struts cause they make a hell of a difference when it comes to "clonking". I also replaced sway bar bushings and end links. They snap quickly if the road is bumpy and it's an easy and cheap DIY. I also replaced rear axle bushings. The old ones were so busted, we had to burn them out. This is going to be second set of control arms on my bug in 18 months, that's how bad the roads are here. My rear control arms bushings snap'd in half and riding is so harsh now that I am friking out when I need to go over smallest bump on the road. Feels like the whole bug will fall apart. I need to replace them like, yesterday and I don't think I'll be able to wait for a week or two to get the upgrade bushings from MJM autohous. I just spoke with my mechanic and gave him green light to go for a hunt on a new set of any control arms with new bushings so I can install them tonight.
KYB-AGX and Eiblbach Pro Kit work nice but it's far away from confy ride

Good news! I found a set of two rear bushings for control arms and they are Audi TT Quattro OEM style. 30 Bucks each, new. They are in town and I'll pick them up after work and install them tonight.
So.. I guess you will have my opinion on them next week

Where should I start!?
New CA bushings kinda wrapd up the whole stearing/suspension makeover on the Bug. Now I can actually feel the suspension working. Clonking is gone and stearing is awesomee. Replacement took les than an hour and went smooth.

Recomended upgrade !!!
