I actually had it painted black. My old front bumper pieces were all crummy, so I got new pieces from 1stvwparts.com and had them painted.

It doesn't make much of a difference in appearance - some, but not a ton. It just feeeeeeeeeeels nicer. And you KNOW it's clean.
