Default Steering wheel Emblem

In the past, I've seen several people looking for steering wheel badges. Mine has always been scratched from the day I bought my car, so I always wanted something to cover it up, too. I found a couple of stickers, but they always wound up coming loose at the edges, because they were flat. The emblem area is rounded...

Here's one I've bought from an eBay seller. It fits great because it's actually rounded on the bottom and makes a flush contact. It has 3M sticky on the bottom of it. It's a Wolfsburg emblem. It's only 45mm, but if you line it up in the center, it works. The seller is from China, and has "more than 10" to sell.

If mine hadn't been scratched, I would not have covered it, but...

These were very inexpensive ($14.99 plus s/h) and just plug into the power plug under the dash...That makes them really easy to install, but makes them not come on automatically, though. They have a little switch that lets you change modes.

LED LIGHT VW BUG BEETLE GOLF GTI JETTA PASSAT CORRADO:eBay Motors (item 380149105794 end time Aug-20-09 21:32:04 PDT)

They have:
- MILLION COLOR CHAMELEON MODE
- 7 COLOR SCAN MODE
- DANCING COLOR MODE
- OR SET TO STAY ON ONE OF 7 COLORS

Check out the little movies he has on his eBay listing.

I also put in some cool white LEDs to replace the other interior lights.

Default Real Gasoline

Wonder if we'll ever get real gasoline back again? I couldn't resist taking this photo of my car against this backdrop of corn...thus the title of the photo.

Default a la Billsbug...

a la Billsbug...

Billsbug had these Beetle scripts on his car. (see http://newbeetle.org/forums/attachme...ert-beetle.jpg )

I always liked those, so I bought a couple for myself, along with some chrome trim for the door:

Thanks, Al!
The door trim came from here:
Autotecnica VW Beetle 7-Pc Chrome Interior Trim Set 99-Up - AutoTruckToys.com

Only four of the pieces will fit on a vert, but all seven would work for you.

The Beetle script came from here:
http://bugsgogo.com/0104.html

If you or anyone else orders the script, be sure and specify the 110mm S-size. The 185mm L-size is too big and won't fit right on the door.

Default Plates

I've been wanting a personalized plate for a while...never had one before, but somehow a Beetle seems more appropriate for one than most cars.

Anyhow, I could never decide what to have printed on it. Since my car is to date nameless, I thought I would look at some of the vanity plates of my fellow .Orgers, and see if I saw any here that I liked.

...We have a winner! And the winner is...

SMG!

I've seen quite a few of you post photos of paint jobs you've done on your calipers, so I thought I'd have a go at it...Here's the rear caliper:

Thanks, guys...I know I'm a little late to the game, and many of you did this type of things years ago, but I've learned so much from this site.

Here a photo of the front that I just finished:
