Default My beetle build -56K warning

This is my picture thread of my beetle build I bought the car 3 years ago in germany, as there only where 4 TDI for sale here in DK, so a small trip to germany and i has the proud New Beelte owner, the plan at that time was a small car audio build so the car could be ready the next year.
But as i started on the project it just became bigger and bigger and i kept getting new ideas on what to do with the car, so it ended up with being a 3 year build with very part of the car modified.
The idea in the project all along was that it should still be a New Beetle, so i tried to stay loyal to the design of the NB so no wild body kits but just some modifications to highlight some of the bodylines.

New pics of the finshed result at page 7

This is the list of what is done to the car:

Exteriore:
Caratere front spoiler filled to the original bumper
Front and rear emblems are removed and filled with lead
3ed breaking light is removed and filled with lead
roof antenna removed
Rear fog and reveres light removed and holes are filled
Right hand side mirror from a Japanese NB so that both mirrors are the same size
Tenzo M black 8,5x19" rims with conti SC3 225/35-19

roof painted black, rest of the car is painted in a special home blended burnt orange/copper

Interior:
Custom made dashboard to fit 1"tweeter, 6,5" midrange and 12" sub all in the dashboard.
All the interior parts(inc doors and roof liner) are either covered with leather, Alcantara or is painted the same color as the car.
Recaro seats from a Golf mkIV GTI also covered with leather and alcantara
Turbo S pedals
Turbo S gearshift stick
RSI style passenger handle
brushed alum ashtray and cup holders
Turbo S steering wheel spokes(not mounted yet)
Turbo S glove compartment handle
Costume made trunk that house the amps

Engine:
Bosio Powerplus 764 injectors
Remap of control unit, this gives 141bhp and 303NM

Breaks and suspension:
KW variant 1 coilover
Slotted front rotors

ICE:
Denon Z1 Headunit
Morel Supremo Tweeter and midrange
Morel Ultimo Woofer
Audison HV Venti amps.
Lyngdorf RP1 processer, with RoomPerfect
Audison Connection Caps
Audison Connection fittings and cables
Ground Zero 12.3500 additional battery

first some pics of the car, its more or lees complete standart most of the time has been spend inside on the caraudio, but now its time to get the car done.

The list of things i have to do outside is long, but nothing wild but lot of small things.

Start of the caraudio build

This is the new airchannel

The original airintake for the airconis moved outside to make room for speakers

First time sound, just to find the angel for the midrange and tweeter

The amps

I have a lot more pics at my home page Installationsbilleder Henrik and in the next 6-8 weeks hopefully the car will be done

At first i thought that it was completely impractical and way too over the top.

Then I looked at the other build pics and i saw what i thought i saw. Morel. If i spent that much money on speakers, i'd want them all right in my face too. It's just all way too beautiful!

i a way you are right, its not that practical and maybe a bit over the top. But i wanted to make a non compromise install, to get the most out of the 30000$ sound system(without navi and ekstra screens) but did i know how long it would take to build it i would never have started...But now its almost done so now its the car, with styling paint ect.

Please don't cheap-out on the paint. Finish this as well as you started and it will be truly impressive. I'm thinking it's good that Denmark is such a low-crime country. There's some places you wouldn't dare to do this for fear of having your windshield smashed

Nice that im not the only one that like it
The paint, will be the orginal blue but with some gold flakes, the inside will be all leather and alcantara. My only problem right now is to finde a 20" chrome rim that i like and will fit the car.
I dont know if the crime is that low in Denmark, but i live in a quiet part, but wee still have a lot of guys from Poland that comes and nick your cars and caraudio But i just hope that they dont nick my car or caraudio.

Truely impressive! There should be little to no road noise with all that sound deadening.

Progress looks great!

Make sure you replace your pollen filter before you get everything hooked up.

I've often wanted to dynomat my 1970 like that. It's the loudest car I've ever been in. So loud in fact that at 70mph I can't hear my 200W Stereo.

The pollen filter is moved outside and replaced with a KN filter from a motorcycel, so that it would be easy to change

Normaly it would cost a lot with all that Dynamat, but I helped one of my friends to strat up Dynamat in Denmark coupels of years ago, so i have some good deals on it
We did an old BMW last year and I was just blown away over have quiet i got after that, so it really helps and it dosnt have to be so extrem as in my car.

She only has 71000 miles on the clock so thats nothing
