Well, the oil pan was changed, brake fluid flushed, running sweet, completely detailed, registered and sold and his clutch is still stuck sitting in the garage.
Sounds to me being you are such an "ace" you sould be helping your co-worker out. Taking a couple bolts out to change an oil pan is nothing compared to pulling a trans in a truck.

I actually thought about that... If I could fit it in my garage I'd make the offer. It's a big ex-show truck that is lifted on 44" tires. I wouldn't leave it outside and couldn't get close to fitting it inside. If money were no object, I'd buy it and put a powerstroke diesel in it!

Nice bug! I have an old slat roof rack like that sitting up with my vintage VW parts. I should dig it out and see what it'd look like.

Thanks! I just ordered a tdiheater and have 2 other items to finish up. It's got the wrong battery in it (old one from my powerstroke) and the fuel tank leaks when it's filled to the top (not the sending unit so I'm guessing it's the vent).

But there is nothing stopping it from running around all over the place. She's put about 4000 miles on it that would have been racked up on her F350.

Out of all the boosted, blown, worn, damaged pistons that have failed I've ever seen, that one takes the cake! Pulling a wrist pin looks easy compared to that wear!\
Was it 'running' when you bought it? lol!
I can only imagine the oil on the other piston in the picture is from the same demise?

I don't get on here all that often - mostly to reply to emails or PMs. To answer that last question - no, it certainly was not running. Hadn't run in a couple of years. Previous owner had posted over on tdiclub.com "poof - it's a pile of crap" to describe what happened. I've never seen pistons this bad either (yes - the oil/sludge was the same on all 4).

It's still going strong. I put a kp39 turbo on it last summer that I took off my BEW Jetta and a wheel bearing a couple months ago, plus 4 new speakers. She's happy for now
