Default vwgary's unnamed supercharged 98

Might as well start my own picture thread. I began posting on the Org back in 03 when we first bought our Aquarius Blue NBC. Been thru 3 NB's since and have recently had a renewed passion for the bug. It all started when my wife mentioned that she felt old driving my 03 Sebring vert. Our daughter replied, "well ma, you are old". That was it, I was told to look for another NB and I traded title for title for the 98 we now have. I bought it pretty much as it sits, except for some cosmetic upgrades but more are planned. I'll post some before and after pics. As we explore more of the beautiful state of South Carolina and as mods get added, I'll update with additional pics.
As bought:
2.0L rebuilt with Neuspeed supercharger
91 octane ECU upgrade
ABD Big Bore intake with P-Flow
Tectonics stainless steel high flow exhaust
ABD upper front strut tie bar
Neuspeed Sport Springs
Bilstein shocks/struts
Alpine CDA7892 Media Expander head unit with XM
MB Quart separates in A pillars, front doors and rear seat sides
Clarion equalizer
MB Quart 1000W amp
2 12" Jack Hammer subs in custom enclosure
17" TSW VX-1 wheels (hate them and they're for sale)
Wings West rear valance
My Mods:
ATS rear wing
Smoked tailights
Smoked front and rear corner lights
Super Stubby billet antenna
Installed OE fog light front valance
TT pedals and dead pedal
Futre mods:
Set of 19" wheels (preferrable Moda R6's)
Custom two tone paint (Reflex Silver over black)
Black leather Sport interior

Thanks for the positive comments. I forgot to post in the "mods to come" will be bigger brakes. Not that I really need the additional stopping power, they just look better poking out from behind a nice set of wheels
I've also added Wolfsburg Edition badging off a Vanagon Carat on both sides where the side marker lights go on 99 and up models. I'll have to post a close up pic of those.

Evanrude was kind enough to photoshop my future paint scheme. The front emblem will be shaved, the mirrors will be painted silver and the red pinstripe will only run down the back and sides stopping at the front fenders. I'll also have the dark tint removed and replaced with mirror tint.

Thanks I really need to ditch those Wings West side skirts tho. Since they were on the car when I bought it, my fear is what the rockers might look like underneath.

Default prelim pics of all 4 corners tinted

Or....my tale of woe. Or......sample test the products you're using beforehand!!!!!
Finally after waiting a month for my Nite Shadez tint to arrive and nice weather was upon us I cleaned and tinted all 4 corners. They came out absolutely gorgeous. Nice shine and perfect match to my L041 black paint. After waiting the necessary 24 hours I used DupliColor crystal clear as a final coat. By the time I had coated my last piece they all began to turn milky white I repeated the process on an old lens I had and the result was the same. I think I may have gotten a bad/old can of clear. I cleaned the clear off as best I could without removing the tint and reinstalled them. So, I ordered 4 new corner lights and will do this again. Luckily I have enough tint to do another 4. This time however I will not use any clear.

Same here Al. It's great to meet a screen name in the flesh.
Hopefully we'll get a few pics with the Savannah River as a backdrop

They're stock tails that have been tinted with NiteShadz.

Default Sans the Wings West side skirts

Well, today it was only going to get to the low 90's so I started early taking the side skirts off. A few screws, some careful pulling and 10 minutes later they were gone. Then there was 2 hours with a rag and can of Goof Off removing the two sided tape. As I'd feared, the blind side passenger rocker had taken a curb or some obstruction at some point. It isn't too bad and I'll have it dealt with whenever I get the upper half painted Reflex Silver. At this point, I'm considering pulling the Wings West rear valance too. I'm just not a fan of body kits. Ultimately I'd like to find a TurboS rear bumper.

We have my wifes 06 Element for sale(here on the Org too)which will be replaced with another NB. I'm really leaning towards an 07/08 NBC (our retirement car) but she'd ideally love to find a super low mileage Platinum Grey or Uni Red TurboS. The benefit of another TS would be no car payment and I won't have the urge to replace the stock rear bumper on mine.

On a side note, 2 of my 4 new corner lights have come in. I got the rears and will wait for the fronts so I can tint all 4 at the same time.
