I saw in another thread that you got your new key. Does everything work correctly with both keys? So what is left to do on your to do list?

Yes I got my new key, it is the square one as apposed to the oval. It was updated to look like the newer ones. Also, I got my BEETLE tag registered today so I am legal! I also had the new mirror switch installed. I guess that would be a mod of sorts. Su as for right now, I am finished doing everything I set out to do!!!..............Here are some pics of my newest mods..

Thanks Jonk! Well I think I am about done with modding for now. I ran out of mod money! It was fun while it lasted!!!! Being on here talking about Beetles is far more fun than being on the political threads!!!!

Ok I am going to try my feeble hand at taking some Fall foilage pics this year with Ernie. These first 2 are of a beautiful tree in our neighbors front yard. I pulled Ernie in back for a minute to catch a pic of it. Let me know what you think!!! Too much car, not enough tree?

arrgghh, I'm jealous - I asked at the dealer if my 99 could use the square fob instead of the oval one and was told by the tech that no, not possible - liar, liar - did they have to do something special and/or expensive for that to work on Ernie? He's a 99, right? hmm, reading on, is it possible that you to have the square fob because it's brand new?? these oval fobs don't hang onto key hooks/rings very well (mine doesn't) and I tried to glue one corner in an attempt to have a second key on a ring with the fob on a keychain which only lasted a short while - I like the square style much better!

I got it new off Ebay for 69 bucks. Just make sure it says New, not just new blank, and make sure is says 99 Beetle. The company that makes them said that they upgraded the "F" series, (which is what the oval is), so we could use the square fob with the bar on the battom. I only spent 97 bucks total. Yes Ernie is a 99.

Thanks Scott! I am going to have to wait for Santa Claus . . . . Bluenote still needs the brake hose purchased and installed before snow flies . . . if you wouldn't mind, would you PM (or post here) the seller so I "get it" right in my head?
I just love how much we all love doing things for our NBs (other VWs too)
Ernie has a very proud parent - have you called VW for his birth certificate yet?

Ok Carolyn and I went to Cave Hill Cemetary today to walk and get some pics of Ernie. She does much better than I on pics, so I let her control the camera for most of the pics... the second tree in the background is called a "smoke" tree. I don't know too much about a smoke tree, maybe someone else will. This tree is called a Katsure tree. In the cemetery, the trees have the names on them...

right on top of things! (Birth Certificate)

sure, key seller ID would be nice but maybe a PM? (or do we post Ebay IDs on threads? Ebay is so finicky about showing bidder IDs and all)
