I'm glad you got to ski some more Tapsa. We are getting hit with snow as we speak. Getting a fresh "dusting" of 5-9" of snow. I am heading up to Green Lake Wisconsin tomorrow with my friend, her son, and Jeremy to go snowmobiling! I can't wait! I'll make sure I don't forget my camera. Have a good weekend and I'm sure I'll see what you did on your other thread!

We have now approximately 12" of snow here (=30 cms).
The weather forecast says that we´re getting some more during the weekend...

Oh boy, your trip sound like a huge fun! You must definitely post some pics afterwards!! Have a nice weekend too Joel!

Congrats on reaching 200,000 miles! Hopefully you will get many more miles out of your Bug. The new winter pics that you posted look cool; that snow pile that you're parked next to is huge!

Yesterday I got a chance to test drive new Beetle 1,2 TSI for 5 hours!! It was really a great experience, I like it so much

I took the car with me also to our local VW-club´s meeting, so that my fellow VW-enthusiasts can test drive it too
They all said very good comments about it

In my opinion, the 1,2 TSI engine with 105 HP is powerful enough for Finnish roads and speed limits. Amazing, how well it goes with that engine and 6 speed manual gearbox! It is also quite economical, which is important (at least to me).

Roads here are icy or snowy, but the Beetle can handle slippery conditions very well (it was equipped with excellent -Finnish- Nokian winter tires). ESP is sophisticated and the overall handling is just fine!

I love, love, love it..... Must buy it someday...

Very cool Tapsa! So glad you got to drive one and a manual one at that! I haven't driven a 12 Beetle yet. I still want to drop mine off by the dealer by my work and bring it home for the night. Love the pics with the Old Bug!!!

"Dad tell me about the 60's again..." Lovely picture Did you have a picture of all three?

I also visited in Autotalo Lohja and saw the new Beetle there. It´s very nice but I still think that the old one looks little bit better than the new one. Maybe it´s because of the tail lights... But it´s just my opinion

But I would like to testdrive it too And it would be nice to own it some day in the future after my loyal "stallion", heh

Thanks Debbie, Joel, PaliPrincess and Kuplakolmoset

PaliPrincess: you can find the original idea here:
New Beetle ads (page #23). I just lent it

Kuplakolmoset: unfortunately I don´t have that kind of pic.
There was red NB present, but it had to leave before we managed to take those pics.

If someone force me to choose only one as a ultimate favorite, I would pick New Beetle. I like it little bit more. It is more "entire" package in my opinion. Definitely ART on four wheels! Beetle is more practical and functional, but it is not that much art.

At first I didn´t like 2012 Beetle´s tail lights, but now when I am used to them, I wouldn´t change them. They´re all right; actually quite cool!

Ah I see, nontheless your TDI rocks! I really do not like the 2012, like I'm 5'11" and 120lbs(about 54kg) and when I test drove that car it was too tight, just my opinion....but great pictures, keep up the great work!

One month of nordic skiing behind and over 250 miles (400 kms)
I´m happy with my performance so far.

This morning: bright sunshine and no wind at all. Temperature was -4F (-20C). So quite good weather to ski

Some pictures below; not very good ones actually, but I just want to give you a hint, what´s going on here...

Beauuuuuuuuuutiful pictures! I have to ask you, what is the lowest temperature that you got your TDI to start? The lowest it's been here in Michigan (since I've had my Beetle) was 5F (-15C) and I got my TDI to start just fine.

Great job on hitting 250 miles in one month Tapsa! That is quite an accomplishment! Great early morning pics and I see it's quite cold there now. We have been really lucky this year with our temperatures and haven't gone below zero yet. I love the temps but we don't have any snow. Keep snapping those pics Tapsa. I love seeing them.

Oh, you´re too kind... I almost blush

Well, I am just an amateur. But glad to hear anyway, that I sometimes manage to "touch" people with my pics. It makes me feel good

Maybe I am posting little bit too much, but -yeah- this thread is like a diary for me.

Thanks again

I always use my electric engine heater when possible; I try to avoid real cold starts. Unfortunately this winter I don´t have a possibility to heat my engine where I work. So I just have to cold start my Bug

This winter the coldest start so far has been -8F (-22C).
No problems at all! I have changed my fuel filter; I do that every autumn! Also I bought new battery, because I noticed that my previous battery was not 100% all right any more.

PS. last winter I drove my Bug -22F (-30C). No problems.
Our ordinary diesel fuel can handle -30F (-34C) temperatures.
When the weather gets colder, we should use "Arctic" diesel.
It can handle -40F (-40C) temperatures!
