I am putting the same engine in my beetle. How fast is yours and have you done anythig else to yours.

it's obviously a whole lot quicker than a regular beetle, and quicker than my old mk3 gti vr6. i've not done any mods to the motor because i put lots of miles on it (26,000 in about 10 months last year) so it needs to stay reliable. it has a lightened flywheel, k&n intake and a full magnaflow catback, but that's all pretty mild stuff. otherwise i've swapped the full interior and the wheels several times, but not much else.

did you ever get the ac going on it? have you had any major mechanical problems due the swap? aside from those that come with a 12 year old car?

i never have put the a/c lines on it yet but that'll be done for this summer. no mechanical problems to speak of except when i got it the pass. motor mount was bad and it seems to have gone out again. i need to switch to vf-engineering or something once i have a lot of extra money sitting around
