Well Michelle, I am glad to hear at least you didn't have to pay for the alignment!

I would let Wolfgangs have a piece of my mind for leaving it wacked.

I think the VNT cleaning Troy is doing for ya will take care of you for a while.

Can't believe it either, we cruise a week from friday.....

I know isn't that awesome!? I hope Probie is fixed in time. I want to see Pepper in all his glory!!!

I think the VNT cleaning will work. After the alignment, the turbo worked again! (go figure) And worked all the way up to this afternoon at lunch. So that atleast tells me it's not dead. Maybe there is a mechanical flaw that was bad at the warehouse and I'll get a brand new turbo for free...ok well one can hope. lol

Haven't decided if I want to yell at Wolfgang's yet. The alignment was free and as far as I know it didn't do any damage, it was only 2 days of driving. Though they are new tires....hmm...

Woohoo! Upgrade time!!!

But seriously -- if cleaning doesn't fix it, think of it not as the loss of a turbo, but rather as an opportunity to get a nice big 17/22 or something* that just happened to come at an inconvenient time.

(* not sure how big you can go without killing that 01M...)

I suppose I could look at it that way. I've been checking the TDIclub for a steal on a turbo...just in case. I'd like to upgrade but as it is, I've put so much into Probie these last few weeks, I hope I don't have to upgrade yet!

And like you side, how much turbo could I really get without killing my 01M?? The last thing I need on top of the turbo issue is a tranny issue lol

UPDATE:

Probie now has a working turbo! He is running better than ever, which I'm totally thrilled about! It's so nice, after 3 weeks of intermittent limp mode, it's amazing to have turbo power.

I am still however upset with Wolfgang's. Not only was my alignment off on the one wheel, without them telling me. But now, I had Troy ride in my car to hear a noise that was bothering me, and he confirmed what I feared that it was. My OTHER wheel bearing!! Wolfgang's had actually bought two wheel bearings, just in case, but claimed only the left one was bad. So I went ahead and had them put on new front brake pads because they said they were low. Then the continued to tell me there was still a noise and they think it's in the transmission. Oh err... I'm gonna have to talk with them today, this is unacceptable!

It's been raining here a lot lately, so no chance for new pics. Plus poor Probie has been dropped off so much lately that I haven't had him home long enough to snap even a dirty picture of him.

Wow, poor Probie hasn't had a new photo shoot since the dragon and well in all honesty, I kinda forgot to take pictures of him AT the dragon. I know bad mommy! I think I'll take him out today, give him a bath, put on his ToD stickers, maybe get him some things from Advance Auto Parts...we'll see. But photos are well over due!! Stay tuned

I'm getting Probie withdrawls New pics would be my cure. I'm sure you can find a cool building wall or some cool nature as a backdrop. I know Probie wants to show off a little.

Hey I really do love your Probie! I happen to have a special place in my heart for Silver Bugs! What did you do with your moonson stero system? And the Force wheels you had on her? I like what you have done with her! Keep up the good work!

Well, goodluck on all the bad sudden news! This really sucks that it all happened at once! Look on the bright side... At least you can get that manual transmission you wanted a bit sooner than expected! Wait.... thats not really that great of news timing wise....

Oh and great new pictures!! How is it having a functioning Turbo again?

Thanks Everyone!!!

I love having a clean turbo, though it didn't improve gas mileage any, I'm a bit of a lead foot! Thankfully though, they were wrong about the tranny noise, it was actually the other wheel bearing. So, I got that fixed (long story), and I don't have to worry about a new tranny anytime soon, hopefully (knock on wood).

As far as the stereo and the wheels, i'm not sure what I'm doing with them yet. I'm kinda just hanging on to them right now. I had considered selling them, but I would need to put them back on the car if, heaven forbid, something happened to him and I had to get a new one. So I'm not sure yet, but i suppose if the price is right I could be swayed.

Hi Al!

I'm kinda sad the little flag on his antenna doesn't show more, it looks really cute! I don't know how well it will fare on the highway at 80 mph, but we'll see tomorrow.

at the flag!! You may want to add an extra staple to if it so the fabric won't just rip off the stick! Maybe an extra zip tie too....

But the flag does look great!

thanks!

The flag with held the morning commute at 80mph. Let's see how it handles this afternoon. More rain is expected throughout the entire week...sigh...i'm so sick of rain, I want some nice sunny pics!!! Besides, I almost went afloat with Probie in some of the lake sized puddles we had. They were so deep that when I drove through them water waved up higher than him. Thank goodness for new tires and one tough little car!!!

Did you say Puddles? You should take some puddle pics with Probie. That would look so sweet- a silver beetle reflecting in a puddle... Choice
