OK, when you said nuts, I assumed lug nuts. The center of the wheel is called the "center cap".

yeah, that's ok. I always get it confused. I had the hardest time searching for them on ebay and the such. But when I found out they were like $40 a PIECE...yeah no thanks. I'll keep the ones I got and just paint them! So yes, I'm thinking of painting the center cap blue. Just don't think I want to wait for "Blue Lagoon". I think engine paint blue is close enough.

If the colors aren't side by side I don't think it'd be noticable. Gonna be looking good for the next GTG
BTW, did you change your hair as planned??

Yes I did actually. No more blonde. I had blonde and pink for a short while, so short in fact I have no pictures of it But now it's Black and pink, although the pink has again faded. So I'll wait to post pics until I get the pink redone. Now it's kinda black and pink fading into white lol

So, Probie has had some upgrades and will continue to get more hopefully this weekend. I'll post pictures when that happens. BUT in the meantime. Probie was able to make a new friend. I came back from my lunch about 20 mins ago and found this nice little Porshe 911 to park next too. I'm sure the two of them will have plenty to talk about

Probie must be getting some expensive taste, because he's really enjoying parking next to these expensive cars!

Probie definitely attracts the expensive cars! LOL! I still can't wait to see the spoiler on, it's going to look so good!

I HATE #24! Hate it so much I would probably have just moved my car if I saw that truck. Ugly! Al, I knew I liked you, but I like you even more now! #88 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Counting down to the Firecracker 400 (I HATE the corporate sponsorships!) Go 88!

Firecracker 400?? What race is that?? I've been outta Nascar for awhile now That's not the Coca Cola race is it?

And yes, Probie loves his expensive cars. Appearantly him and Mr. 911 had a very nice chat while I was working. When I went to start Probie up after work, he roared to life! Louder and at around 4 RPMs!!! I couldn't believe it! I hadn't steppped on the gas pedal or anything...so I have no clue. But he must have wanted to show off to the 911 haha!!! Crazy little car. I love him!

The race, now known as the Coca Cola 400, was once known as the "firecracker 400". I wish for traditions sake, the would have left the name alone. They could've named it "the Coca Cola Firecracker 400". Once again, corporate branding had taken away tradition. Still a great race. And uh.....

GO Jr. We need you back in the winner's circle.

Well Probie and I had a fun adventure! We did our first wash and wax together. I've never had a nice enough car to wax until I got Probie. I've been so afraid of screwing up the wax job that I just have waited to do it. Well I was tired of waiting and today was a beautiful day!! So here is what he looks like now. No shots during...only after

Plus I got around to spraying his center caps and putting on his ToD decal! We're gonna be out and about in Atlanta tonight. I'll try to take some cooler shots then. I noticed I keep taking shots in my driveway haha

Probie is dazzling, Michelle! The ToD sticker looks good. Have a great time tonight but be careful out there. We'll be looking forward to more pics.

I love me that reflex silver. It's one of VW's colors that lends itself well to decorating. And when it's all clean and waxed like Probie, well, it's like a jem. One of my favorite nB's was our 02 reflex silver Sport.

I like the painted center caps too. Nice subtle touch of color. When you do get around to doing the brake calipers, the blue will really pop.

Looks good lady! Time to do some headlight lens polishing though to get rid of that dull/yellow look. It is pretty easy to do.

Thanks everyone! Probie is gleaming in his glory right now. I might have to take him back for a quick wash...I left some wax on him...oopss.....

Sadly enough, in my haste to head to Atlanta to see a friends musical...I left my camera at home. So no new Atlanta pictures yet. I'm not sure what we have planned for tomorrow other than checking out a local car show. Maybe I can squeeze in a few shots somewhere during the day

Yes, the calipers will eventually be painted. I've found some blue caliper paint...but it might not be the right blue and might look strange. In all honesty...I think metallic blue calipers would look pretty sweet! lol But it's not heat treated paint so it may not work...and it's a rattle can. We'll see.

And I've tried to clean up the headlamps with wet sanding. Only made them worse. I think my only options is to get new lenses, or just all new ones. Although they cleaned up nice today after the wash and wax. That's probably the nicest they've looked since I've owned them!

And I know this may not be the right thing to do, but before I waxed Probie, I sprayed the entire car down with Bug and Tar remover. I have never felt his paint sooo smooth in my life!! Though the poor thing has soo many rock chips...I'm gonna have to have him resprayed soon. He deserves a fresh coat. Those dark black spots you see in the front bumper at the very bottom below the blinkers...those are spots of missing paint!!! I have touch up....I just have yet to do it. lol

Most of the caliper paint I've ever used came in a rattle can. Just wear a glove and spray it into a small cup and dip your brush. I cheated even further and just sprayed right into the cap and wiped the excess when I was done. Also, it doesn't need to be caliper paint. ANY high temp paint will work and those seem to have more variety of colors to choose from.

Probie looks so good, Michelle! I miss Bullet I knew I would and I'm having fun with Ebony, but it's just not the same......

I hate to admit that I have never waxed a car. I am not a very good caretaker of their appearance even though I do love them! Hope you had fun in Hotlanta, even though you did forget your camera.

For the race question, Al answered it. I always refer to the races by their old names, the names they had before they all had sponsorships. The Firecracker 400 was always my favorite!

I can vouch for Gary by my experience and can tell you for true that rattle can, hi-temp paint works. Do it just like Gary says and you'll be in there like swimwear!! I used Duipli-color engine enamel- rated at 400 degrees.
