Do you think maybe I can mix some engine paint and that metallic paint together to get a high temp metallic paint for the calipers? I think Metallic calipers might be pretty sweet....

No shots during...only after

Plus I got around to spraying his center caps and putting on his ToD decal! We're gonna be out and about in Atlanta tonight. I'll try to take some cooler shots then. I noticed I keep taking shots in my driveway haha

The buga looks good.

Bullet needed some major work that I just could not afford to have done Actually, I don't think I ever posted it here because, well, honestly I was sick of getting slammed by people for getting rid of my bug, but I did finally confirm that the slippage was the transmission going and there was no way that I was going to be able to afford the TB/WP job plus at least one wheel bearing, struts and shocks, brakes, and either a major transmission repair or a totally new one. I had gotten quotes of anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 for everything, and that was if the transmission didn't need to be replaced! Ugh!

Anyway, sorry, Michelle, didn't mean to take over your thread! Keep posting all the beautiful reflex silver pics! I will live my reflex silver love vicariously through you and Probie while I live my Beetle love through looking at all the pics on this site and visiting/driving my mom's Daisy!

That's ok Tonya. I didn't realize poor Bullet was having ALL those issues. Poor little guy. I think, in that case, you made the right choice. I dread the day my tranny decides to kick the bucket. Though I know I'm getting a 5-spd in it's replacement, I still don't have the cash flow for that. So I'm currently applying for a second job, and going to pay off my credit card. Make extra payments on Probie and stash some away at the same time. I want to be prepared for the worst but hope for the best! When it comes to money that's my motto. I'd rather be prepared for the worst and just hope for the best!

And don't worry you can love vicariously through Probie. I don't mind. He loves the attention. Some people were talking about him when we were watching fireworks the other day. Someone was like, "I really like that car" and their sibling said "I think it looks evil, but it's kinda cool though" lol......Probie =

Thanks, Michelle!

I might have never posted all of his problems. I was going to call that guy you told me to call, then I started having all this other stuff happen. When I was able to get the new car, I decided to go for it. The dealership was going to fix him up to resale and had actually gone in and done the TB/WP (it did need it bad, I'm lucky it lasted as long as it did), but after the belt was replaced it was still slipping so they started looking at the transmission and they think it needed to be either rebuilt or replaced. They decided to sell him at auction once they made that discovery. While I'm sad I'm not longer driving a Beetle, I am lucky that I was able to avoid all the expensive repairs that were coming!

So, when is Probie getting his spoiler installed? It is going to look so hot when it's on there!

Hopefully the spoiler will be installed by the end of July. I'm looking at getting a second job here soon and that'll bring in enough extra money that I think i'll be able to fix up Probie properly and get some much needed things done as well. He's going to need new shocks and struts as well, and the more I drive him...the more I feel it! He's going to get new brake pads and rotors and new brake fluid next weekend at the TDI GTG. Nothing fancy right now. Just doing what I can afford. I really want that spoiler on. I hate thinking about it sitting in Matt's shed until I can do something with it...UGH!! But keep your fingers crossed that I can get it on by the end of this month!

Well, what if I paint with caliper paint...then spray a coat of metallic over it...then a coat of heat treated clear coat (if there is such a thing)...??

I just want that metallic blue over it, I think that would be awesome! But I don't know, I'm assuming the paint would melt and catch fire if it wasn't heat treated and got too hot? But if I have caliper paint as a base, then heat treated clear on top...that should protect the metallic right? Hmmm....back to the drawing board I guess.

Think I found an idea of the accent that I want on Probie. Is there anyway that someone can photoshop this on? Without the black of course. Just the blue lines....Thanks! I kinda like the idea of sound waves on Probie. Especially after I get a system hooked up in him.

Wow, that would look great! I don't know photoshop, but hopefully somebody does and can do it for you. I think that bright blue would look awesome on the reflex silver.

Weelllll..... is this kind of what you were thinking? Tinted windows... the same spoiler that Cup (and Sting) have, and this sound wave...

Speaking of yellow headlight lense... I was at good ole' Walmart and back in their auto department I found this kit for cleaning your headlights. It costs $19.99 and it came in a foil package. It worked great! Daisey's headlights were etched, they were really bad!!

The kit came with two different grit sand papers and a polishing liquid and a sealer. I'm thrilled with the results

Probie finally got his new valve stem caps! YEAH! Red is gone!

He also got a bath last night, to remove some wax residue (I appearantly suck at waxing!) but then it rained.

I will be in Atlanta this weekend for my job training. I'll venture downtown and take some shots! (promise!) Then I'm hoping to meet with some folks on the Vortex Saturday night and take some pics there too! So, be looking out this weekend. I might have some pretty snazzy pictures up soon!

I'm hoping *fingers crossed* to have my spoiler painted and POSSIBLY installed....next weekend!!! I get my first check from my second job on the 15th and it'll be a nice one. So, I'm gonna use that to put on the spoiler. hehe I'm excited! So, here's hoping!

thank you. I think I'm going to have to find a different one though. That one is neat, but if I use it it'll have to be blue. It looked cool with the black background, but on a silver car....not so much. There is no "pop" to it, on a silver car. But it gave me an idea and that's what I needed. Now I know what type of accent I want on the car, I just have to find the right one!
