Thumbs up 1.8beetle's 00 NB with no name

The other pic that I have on my new members thread is from about a year ago. Since then I have done some modifications to my beetle but I consider them to be in good taste. I like a nice clean car that flows well and is free from distraction.
I do need to lower the car and then I think that I will call it quits as far as the exterior goes. I have 1.5" lower
springs ready I just need to save up some dough for new struts.
The quality of the pics are not that great and wouldnt you guess it, it rained the very next day after I had just washed my car. It always happens that way

Like many others my car has a damaged rocker panel but it was caused by my brother in law when he used to drive it. I am waiting for it to get warmer here in Ohio so that I can cut out the damaged area and weld in a new section of rocker from VW

I just got these done a few days ago. It just rained when I took the pics so the wheel has dirt on it.

Boost gauge pod made by me out of fiberglass and a toilet paper tube.

I got the turbo s inner wheel well for Xmas last year

Thats it for now, I hope that everyone has enjoyed the pics.

I forgot to list the mods done to the beetle.
Performance:
ABD turbo inlet pipe
ABD lower intercooler pipe
Short ram air filter
Forge 007 DV
2.5" Downpipe with high perf. cat.
60MM Neuspeed cat. back exhaust (I want to change the tips)
Boost gauge and custom pod
Audi TT 20% reduction short "shifter"

Styling:
Euro style taillights taken apart and painted candy red (need some finishing)
Clear front turn signals
1.8T emblem
Stubby antenea
Painted stock wheels (old paint had some curbo rash)
Various interior pieces painted cast iron color
Just added audi TT pedals today (not seen in pics)

Thats about it, I think.

Thanks for the name ideas
Spicy and Hotness make me think of candy that I used to eat all the time when I was a kid. Red Hots (singular form: Red Hot), that could be another name to add to the list.

Like your sig by the way!
Someone really wise must have came up with that one

Here's a few more ideas to chew on (bad pun):

Nibs (if your car is masculine)

Cheri or cherry (if your car is feminine)

Nice car, I have had two red Jettas and it is one of my fave colors for any car. The wheels look nice in black.

Thorgipsy,
Thanks for the approval on the black wheels. I was a little bit skeptical about painting them black but I think they look good against the red.
Your lucky to have had two jettas! They are very good looking cars and your right about the vw red.

Name list thus far:
Nibs
Twizz
Red Hot
Trix

Choices choices.....?

Yeah I guess I should turn them right side up lol!

I hate to say this, the springs are an off brand that I purchased off of ebay. However, they are ISO-9001 and QS-9000 certified which means that they have been manufactured and meet an international set of quality standards.
Other words they are good quality regardless of being an offbrand.
I really need to get them on because the car would look so much beeter with less wheel gap.

I know, there would have been a bidding war

Progress Report:
Two out of the three new items came in the mail today.
Unfortunatly the shift knob did not come in. However, the euro light switch and the door lock pins came in. I'll get some pics up tomorrow when I get the chance.

The switch is cool but something is not right. The fog lights do not work now. I switched the euro switch back out and put the original one. The old switch I knew made the fog lights come on before. They still did not work, so the new switch can be ruled out of the scenario. The fuse was not blown either. Very puzzling indeed
I bought two new bulbs for the lights but have not changed them. It seems very unlikely that both fog lights would go bad at the same time.
There is one more thing that could be bad and that is the under dash relay.
Hopefully it is not the relay and just the bulbs as it would be a cheap and easy fix and I wouldnt have to wait for a new relay to come in at the local auto parts supplier.
I guess I'll see what I can do tomorrow.
