Default Where did you get the Turbo S front valance?

Hi there,

I have a GLX Turbo 1.8 Turbo in white. My car is pretty cherry and I'll psot pics soon but really want to change my stock GLX with a Turbo S front end spoiler/valance?

Where'd you get your guy? I want one so bad minus buying one I was even prepared to go to junk yard?

Thanks for your help and happy holidays!!!

Kenneth

Too bad I love my TDI or this wouldn't be a hard decision.
Try it. You'll be happy. I've even gotten oily stains from the mechanic out.

I got all new parts at my dealership, and they assembled it. There is an extensive list of parts you need to do, and in the end it cost me about 3 grand. If you go to the old forums and look for w00sh (that's with two zeros), he has a list, but there are some parts missing which I added toward the end of his forum. If you get a used one, you always have to worry about the chance that paint may not stick as well.

Well, it was 60 degrees yesterday in Boston, and now it's 30ish and snowing like crazy! At least I got to wash my Beetle!

Boo hoo!

Honestly though, here in Boston, you can drive with your top down from mid-March to the end of October. You just have to crank the heat and heated seats, and bundle up if it is below 60. The crisp autumn air is pretty nice!

Sweet! Did you get the side skirt thingies? Also, did you get the dummy exhaust tip or the real pipe?

Dooooooooooood...

1. Caractere side skirts are fine for the Porsche look NB's, i.e. they imitate venting of the big rear wheel drive brakes of 911's, so, no. I have the dash matched rubber running boards.

2. Real pipe. They'll be cutting off the Turbo S-look tips of my Magnaflow muffler to connect the Caractere 'S' pipe and adjoining muffler tip.

Good. I don't really like the side vents anyway. As for the pipe, you're aware that it is only a 2.25", aren't you?

You're talking about that particular pic, right? I originally had a Zender front lip from Autotech. It looked great, and gave the front a more aggressive look without being too tacky, and actually looked like it could have come from the factory. Here is an old pic with my old bumper and old license plate. It cost about $150, which didn't include paint. My dealership painted and installed it with no modifications to the original bumper except for 4 mounting screws. You know, when I look at it now, it sort of looks like the lip spoiler on the GTI 337 and GTI 20th Anniversary.

So tell me about the running boards. I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Here's a close up (the grainy part is the paint on the bottom of the driver's door)...
