Awesome bug buddy. And I love the #3 sticker- allthough it's not a Chevy, but i know where you're coming from. Big Dale fan here and Jr. as well. Hopefully Jr. can do something this year. Enough NASCAR- that's for another thread. Love the triple white; and you take great pics... keep them coming

Thanks so much for the reply, scarabY2K! I have been greatly admiring the pics of Cup and look forward to meeting you in Roswell. As this pic shows, I do actually own a Chevy (but we won't talk about that here ). This pic was take the day we brought Lily home from the dealership.

I love your beetles name. Lily has a sexy/ girl next door vibe to it. Take good care of that gem of yours. I'd love to have a triple white, but my busy lifestyle/activities would make it so hard to keep clean. Cup is a chore as it is- a labor of love of course.

Love the El Camino too

And thanks for giving Cup some love- she always appreciates it

Keep them sweet pics coming.

Cleaned and waxed Lily today. The weather was a little gloomy for photos (perfect for waxing) but I shot a few anyway. We are planning to do a few hundred miles on old Route 66 tomorrow so I'll try to get a few shots on the way.

We did about 300 miles today. Most of it on old Route 66. Here are a couple pics of some of our stops.

I wish you had been here. You would have loved the day. We had a great drive and ended the day with a Blackened Rib-Eye at the Steer Inn. (And Coconut Pie for dessert)

I wish I could figure a way to make it to join up with you all May 9th. I've been reading your thread and must do the Tail of the Dragon someday. If you all make it an annual event we'll do it for sure. I would try to come this year but we have several local club events scheduled, Roswell and in August we are making a road trip through Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and back to Oklahoma.

Someday I'll come do the Tale of the Dragon with you guys if you will come drive my favorite road with us. It starts 7 miles outside of Talihena, OK and 54 miles later dumps you out right in the middle of Mena, Arkansas. It is called the Talimena Scenic Drive. Lily and I love it. I recommend everyone drive it at least once. It's like potato chips....you just have to go back for more.

Thanks jdub....

I seem to have more fun each time I drive it. I still act like a kid when I see another NB. I just love to flash the lights, honk and wave hardily! Sadly I have to report though.....some NB drivers are a bit snobby. I'm afraid it's just the world we live in these days. I am glad to say I am a member of the VW Club of Tulsa and those folks aren't snobby! We do have a bunch of fun.

Thanks again for the kind words about my little car, Lily.

I ran Lily for 300 miles yesterday and about 150 miles of that was in a heavy drizzle/rain. She looked pitiful after work today so I gave her a bath. She looked pretty spiffy in the sunset so I shot a few pics.

I'm liking what's going on here. Frequent nB pic postings.... NICE! You like me, Jdub and many others around here. Don't need a special reason to take Beetle pics. I'm diggin' it buddy- keep em coming.

And we sympathize with you on the non-waving beetle snobs. Dealing with the non waves and no return flashing lights is the cross us beetle nuts must bear

Wow, Lily is one hot chick! I LOVE the triple white, but could never have one. Dirt road + white car = bad news. Heck, dirt road plus any color car is bad news! I have to constantly wash Bullet and he's still always dirty, especially when it rains. Anyway, beautiful car! Wish you could join us for the TOD, I'd love it see the triple white in person.

Thank you Ladytonya. I keep trying to figure a way to make it over for the TOD. Sounds like a fun time will be had by all. It would be a 2 day drive over for us old folks but you never know. TOD is on my list.

We had our VW Club of Tulsa Spring Cruise today. I took nearly 400 shots but only got one or two of Lily alone. This shot was taken on an old section of Route 66 where it is one single 9' wide lane....I think this secton was built in 1922. They also called it the "Ribbon Road" at the time. It is near Afton, Ok.
