Hello all! Finally starting a thread for my Beetle. Factory options are: Package #2, Automatic trans, XMRadio. Pretty much keeping it stock. Might add HID's down the road. Enjoy.

Your '06 is incredible and the pictures are great! Where is that interesting piece of ground you are parked on? Is that in San Antonio? My brother lives in San Antonio, if we ever get down to visit I will have to look you up and we'll do a cruise. Please keep snapping those pictures. We would love to see more.

Hey Thanks man ! Yes, that piece of ground is in San Antonio. It's the parking lot of Friedrich Park - just north of the LaCantera/Six Flags area. I went out the past Sunday to snap some pics and went to the nearest city park. Had never been there before but was really surprised to see the unique parking lot. Made for some cool pics. Lordy it was HOT that day. (near 100) After I was done I quickly put the top up and turned the A/C on HI. I'm such a wimp.

The city parks make great places to take car pics. Yes yes if you ever get down here please look me up. Would love meet you and see that beautiful W3!

Really want to meet some NB lovers here in SA but just don't know any. But this Saturday is - get this - BEETLE DAY IN SAN ANTONIO! It's probably mostly the old beetles (love those too) but hope I can meet some NB owners too.

Mark

Sounds like "Beetle Day in SA" would be the perfect place to find any local VW clubs. If there isn't a VW Club of San Antonio, you should start one. Yep, the air-cooled folks are cool too.

There is a local club - VOSA - Volkswagen Owner's of San Antonio. That's who's doin' the Beetle Day this weekend. Hope to meet some folks Sat.

BTW, anyone out there have any suggestions on a safe method of getting that silly dealer's nameplate off my trunk? I tried to peel it off but it began separating in layers immediately.

Thanks man! Yeah this red/beige combo really reached out and grabbed me. I usually end up with a car in the blue or silver range of colors.

WHAT?!? My City Lights are showing??
How embarassing!

Actually those lights do work. They are part of the parking lights circuit. If I had a Euro switch they'd come on in the parking lights position.

So where's a good place to get a Euro switch?

So I got a Euro Switch and installed it the other day. Took a few pics of "just the parking lights" including the "city" lights.

Oh cool! Very nice!!

So where did you buy your euroswitch? They sell them just about everywhere online, but now I'm just curious!

Thanks! I got it here. Opted for 3-day shipping but got here in two. I am prob gonna disable DRL. DRL is pointless here in south Texas where there are 300 days of intense, bright Sunshine a year.

Ooooooh I like this colourcombination
Never seen it in reallife, but only with Old Beetles.

Pretty bug!!!!!

Your parkinglights as you call it, are my daily daytime lights. I always turn them on.
Then again, it's standard on my car to have the citylights, as we like to call them

Gorgeous vert! I love the salsa red, I almost opted for one.
I'll get a Euroswitch someday for mine.
Keep the pics coming!
