The door sticker came from Laval VW in Canada(I forget which town, Quebec maybe). I got them while on vacation in 1999 or 2000, not long after I got Elwood. The dealer had a set on a red NB in the showroom and with the help of a salesman who spoke some English, they told me they had them custom made and could have a set ordered. So after giving them the color they ordered a set and three weeks later they arrived at my door.

I'm on my way to pick Elwood up from the dealer. I had my CEL come on the other day and they found it to be two blown fuel pump relays. I'm glad it was only a couple hundred dollars vs. a couple thousand. I guess I'm doing pretty good (knock on wood). 13 1/2 years and that's the first time I've ever had a service scare like that. I know NBs get a bad rap for reliability, but I can prove that's just not the case.

The latest check up revealed a malfunctioning kombi valve for the CEL and the overheating was a bad water pump. So I decided to make the investment in a new timing belt and a new serpentine belt. Now Elwood's back to feeling all better.
