Great! None at all! I LOVE driving at night now! I see everything. I turned on my fogs today and wow, it was like I was the sun driving down the road. The Fogs illuminated both edges of the roads and a good distance off the sides of the road and the HID kit lights up a looooooooooooong way down the street!

I highly recommend the kit, but i would advise to get the slim ballast ones so you just stick them in the hole behind the housing and dont have to worry about mounting them somewhere. But if you're on a budget like me, the regular ones were still very easy to mount.

Yay! Sorry about the breakage though.... ... ... ... sorry I shouldn't laugh.

You too! Don't forget to take pics of the completed project and bits and pieces of the work along the way!

PLEASE don't break anything else!

I miss Titan . He's spending the night over at the shop because he is getting his timing belt and waterpump done 1st thing in the morning. I have class in the morning and work waaaaaaaay to far away to justify running to drop him off in the AM and then finding a ride. So i left him stay overnight.

Here is the Work order:
Vehicle 2002 (Close enough) Volkswagen Beetle
Trans 5 SPEED
Engine 1.8T
Mileage 88800 (hit it JUST as i pulled into the parking lot)

Parts
T-BELT KIT TIMING BELT KIT 1.8T, INLCUDES METEL IMPELLAR WATER PUMP, TENSIONER, ROLLER & BELT = $200.00

ZVW 237 G12 ANTIFREEZE = $12.80

Labor Est PERFORM TIMING BELT SERVICE
$200.00

Parts Total $212.80
Labor Total $200.00
Hazard Waste $0.00
Other $0.00
Shop Supplies $0.00
Sub Total $412.80
Sales Tax $14.90
Work Order Total $427.70
Total Payments $0.00
Payment Method
Amount Due $427.70

$2.70 MORE than what i was told over the internet, but i won't complain.

Also, they're doing a FREE VAGCOM scan and FULL inspection with a breakdown of everything else my car needs or will need. They're giving it to me with prices for parts and labor.

Finally, as an added bonus, I've met MOST of the guys that work there at the Dub Cartel meet's i've started going to on Wednesday nights! I don't really have pics, but i promise to start getting some soon!! There is even 1 REALLY nice beetle there! It was at the shop too when i dropped Titan off so at least I know Titan is in good company!

I forgot to mention that i got Titan back on Friday evening. Dad went to pick him up because i worked until 4:30 at one job and from 5-12 at my other job so i didn't have time. Titan was parked right in front when i got home

Titan's acting his usual weird self again. Now that my timingbelt and waterpump worries are gone, others have popped up.

*Door Microswitch

I was leaving Saturday morning to Coral Springs/Margate and when i started driving, i noticed that my interior lights didn't turn off. I just manually turned them off and continued on my trip because i was already 25 minutes into the drive.

When i got there, i closed my door and locked it, but got no horn beep. I took my sister for a ride later and she let the wind slam the door (not intentionally) and when it did, it beeped! Sunday evening came and i was back at home and while i was inside ironing my workpants, the alarm started going off! This freaked me out because i've NEVER heard my car's alarm before as my flipkey doesn't work. Thankfully, my valet key got rid of the alarm.

Since then, i haven't had an issue with this, but it did happen and i'll be keeping my eye on this.

*Spoiler Speed Sensor

While the car was at the shop, they said that the reason my sunroof isn't working is because of a failsafe of that spoiler light. AND they said that that spoiler light is on because of the "Spoiler Speed Sensor" that is faulty. Makes sense because it will never go up if i dont put it up, AND if i have it up, it goes DOWN at 10mph (accelerating past it but not slowing) AND 93mph (accelerating past it)

So does anyone have any tips on either of my current issues?

ya got me there. TDI's don't have spoilers so I wouldn't even know where to begin with the sensor. Maybe it's a relay somewhere? either in the fuse box or steering column? As far as the door microswitch....again no idea. lol I haven't had this problem as of yet *knock on wood* but I'm sure SOMEONE here has.

Congrats on the Tbelt and such being done. I'm sure you feel MUCH better knowing that Titan is good to go for another 100K on that! I need to find a TDI guy who does Tbelts for that price lol

Default New Pics

1st Picture is how far I went on a tank of gas. Yea, pretty low, but i didn't even put 14 gallons in , so i could have kept going for quite a distance longer. I haven't logged it into my fuelly account yet though.

2nd picture is my car's 1st Milestone after the timing belt was changed. I JUST missed it when i was easing up in a long line of cars at a red light. When i grabbed the camera, it flashed to 1. Oh, and i got a full tank too! After some driving, i'm currently at 3/4ths tank of gas.

Nice!

Don't worry too much about mpg. Since mine is a TDI I removed the vent in my tank so I can fill up to 16.5 gal. So, 600miles a tank is not unheard of from me. According to my Fuelly, I'm averaging about 38mpg. With long highway trips offering the best mpg of course. City driving and stop and go traffic really kill it. And well, I'm a lead foot. But 1.8t's probably will get around 25-27 average? I think that's what Matt is getting in the wagon. Though I could be wrong.

Either way. Congrats on the tbelt fix. And the milestone! Probie will be getting his new toys soon I hope so I'll have to share those as well. I'm still jealous of Titan's interior though....I really want to do that, just don't have the paint or primer. Nor the money. lol Oh well, soon enough!

Just an update:

Titan threw a 2nd CEL last night. I better get busy with these sensors... I am not sure why i haven't changed them yet... I BET that this CEL is related to a sensor of some sort. It came on at a red light of all places.

I need a reverse light sensor
Coolant Temperature Sensor
Door Sensor/ Door Microswitch
Spoiler Speed Sensor

Oh, and Titan should be hitting 90k miles sometime soon...

Finally, i scored an OEM Euroswitch for $20!! WHAT A STEAL!!!!!!! The guy at my local Vw GtG had one lying around and wanted to get rid of it. He sold his GTI and bought an Audi A3! He has a lot of other stuff, but not much else for a Beetle.

I just got my car scanned last night at the Wednesday Meet. My CEL was caused by my dying Diverter Valve. You know what that means right? Its FORGE time!!

Oh, and here are some photos from last night too.

To finish this off, I'd like to let everyone know that Titan has hit 90k miles!
