Sweet! Can't wait to see them installed.

I love the pics of Titan on the grass. I don't think he's embarrassed by it. I think he's rebelling against it! I mean, what a rebel in the first place to park on the grass haha. Matt got a parking ticket once for parking the wrong direction....but he was in a housing community, not a city street! And the city cop is who gave it to him. Sadly he didn't have the time to fight it or he would have. He just paid it. It too was like $25. But your right, I don't see any sign near Titan saying "Do NOT park on the grass" - I'd fight it! Is it really a ticket or a warning? Cause the cop did put "warning" on the ticket, so there may not be a fee....I've had a warning before. I got stopped at a checkpoint and my headlight was out. I got a warning....from my neighbor who just happened to be the cop who came to my window  But warnings are nothing, you don't have to do anything.

Go Titan for being a Rebel! Show 'em that this ain't no sweet love bug! haha

I think it may be a warning... I keep looking up the citation number and nothing is showing up... I think i caught a break on this one..

I looked it up too. The city of Homestead has it written in their code that parking in the grass is illegal and a cause for a citation. Dumb city laws

Thumbs up HIDs In!!

Hid Install Complete!! I'm VERY happy with the results. The HIDs PLUS the regular fogs and it was EXCELLENT!!! They are 35w and 5000k. I ordered them from ddmtuning for $44 shipped. I highly recommend that the slim ballasts are ordered because those should slide right in the cubby right behind the headlight assembly. The cheaper ones that I got require mounting of the ballasts.

The lights look blue in the picture, but in reality, they are very much white with the slightest shade of blue! You can barely even tell! But overall job was pretty easy. The passenger side lever slid no problem. Pulling the headlights out took some effort, but sliding them back in was easy if you make sure the assembly stays in the tracks. 3 on each side.

Next "accessory" for Titan is a EuroSwitch and a REAL headlight restoration kit. That and a bath

Were they plug and play? No splicing? I need to do it.

Nice,I could sure use a set of HIDs & a lens resto. HID fogs would look stellar with the Euro light switch set on fogs only

Sweet bug! Mine could use a bath too, winter jam next week,I'm entered into the H20 comp indoors.

What do you want to know exactly?

Pull out old headlights
Drop in the new ones... Only go in one way. Yes new bulbs are much bigger.
Lock them in place (gotta bend the retainer a slight bit)

There are two cables, one that was on as a ground and one that was on feeding power. They're 2 different sizes so you cant mix them up.

Then you just plug in the ballast (only one way because of female and male ends) then mount them somewhere.

Thats it

Btw, thanks for the compliments!!!!

I think instead of going HID fogs, I'm going to go Yellow Halogen bulbs and a yellow film over the lens instead.

Talking Pictures at Night

New pics at night after work yesterday. I drove around until i could find a street with no street lights. That was VERY hard to do because they're EVERYWHERE here.

Order of pics

1) Taillights and what they illuminated (hard to step on the brake light and be at the rear at the same time

2) Parking lights. (headlights on but ignition off) no euroswitch.

3) Headlights off

4) lowbeams on

5) Lowbeams and Fogs (much brighter and wider beam)

6) Side of my house lowbeams. Look at the top left. Can't really see anything.

7) Side of my house Higbeams (I could see the tops of the really tall trees with these in the top left. Can't really tell in the pics.). Low beams off and only highbeams

8) At a redlight. Loot in the rearview mirror to see how dark it was behind me. Brakelights lit up a lot of the signs behind me. Its very dim, but it is there and you can barely make it out.

9) On a road with a slight curve. Can't remember if my fogs were on or not...

10) On a straight road. Still can't remember if fogs were on or not...

Finally, sorry for the quality. All pics were without flash and from a Point and Shoot camera in the auto mode. I didn't find out about the night mode until i got home. I may try to snap two tonight.

Overall, i am 100% satisfied with my HIDs. I haven't been flashed or anything. Best $44 purchase I think I have ever made.

Default Busy Sunday

Today, i decided to wash Titan. He was very dusty!!

I even took off the Take5 rim caps to clean them and I kind of like the look, so i'm gonna go without them for a short period. The brake dust was REALLY thick under it. I scrubbed and got 90% off. Around the screws and in the corners, its too too thick. I'm gonna give it another shot next wash.

Also, while I was in the car, i looked and saw I had the T20 RIGHT next to me.... So i randomly decided to change the Cabin Air Filter. It was DIRTY!!! IT was very hard and stiff. When I turned on the AC, I could hear a wisper quite breeze that I never noticed before. It was also fresh smelling and got FREEZING cold in no time at all! It even had the Vw logo on it. I think it was the first time it has EVER been changed.

Did you have to adjust your lights after the install?

I believe they are the same wheel, just different inserts.

CJ: Have you tried Simple Green for the brake dust? That stuff killed all of it on my e46.

The finishes on the Montecarlo and the take5 are different.
