i've been wondering, how did you go about the rear seat delete? Did you just take them out and get carpet that covers up all the ugliness? or something more involved?
I wouldn't mind having making mine a two seater

No rocket science involved here. Took out the "bottom" bench of the rear seat, took out the rear seat head rests, folded down the back of the rear seat, and presto.................two seater!

Plus, a little less weight is always a good thing!

I wasn't going to have anyone sitting in back anymore anyhow, especially after putting on 19x10" wheels with 255's in back!

No it's not that, it's just that I have finally gotten the set-up tuned perfectly (no rubbing/scraping issues), and didn't want to press my luck by adding two to three hundred additional pounds of passenger downforce.

Not for people being smaller than about 5.5

But I can understand removing the rear seats. Mine's just about 2" lower at the back (18x10 with 255s) and I don't dare going any lower

Still, I shouldn't look at this thread anymore, it just keeps me tied to the monitor for too long

Any updates on new RUF parts?

Yeah, as a matter of fact, there will be an update soon. I'm probably being overly optomistic, but I'm hoping to have something totally effin' sick to show ya in a few weeks!

It took me a long time, and lot of trial and error, but between wheel/tire sizes, offsets, suspension, etc., etc., I finally got my dialed in so I have no rubbing!

I think part of the success is due to the fact that I do have very little added weight in the rear (no seat, rear passengers).

Happy Holiday's to everyone on the org!

Look for the RUF BUG to be back in the first quarter of next year, with a couple of last, additional interior mods, ready to do battle on the show circuit in '10!!

If you do a search, I know there are a couple of "how to's" on the vents around. I know Forvay (Tom) has one on the outer two. I don't have one....sorry.

More bad news.............the grab bar was a custom "one-off", however there is a company that makes one that's practially the exact same thing. Gruvenparts.

Have a great holiday, & keep your eyes peeled for some more RUF SICKNESS!!!

OK, so here's some of life's irony for ya. Here I am, sitting under a foot of snow, and what do I get but an email from Germany, showing me what's finally been completed! I'm sure with the Holiday's and all, it's probably going to be a few more weeks before I can actually "hold it in my hands". A rather moot point anyhow, considering the weather.

In any event, I thought I'd finally share some photos of The Worlds First an ONLY RUF Steering Wheel for a New Beetle

Genuine RUF Embossed Air Bag

Another Angle

Can't wait to finally get this thing on the car. I'm just imagining what it's gonna look like. Can you say S I C K ?

I would also like to add:

I do not condone thieving.
Nor do I thieve however, If I was a thief. Only if I was. which I'm not! I would like to thief your car.
That's how much I like it.... and I wouldn't bring it back too!
