Happy Holidays to you and your family and here's to a killer 2010 on the Dub "Show Circuit".

Thanks man, but don't be jealous. Just try and define a clear "vision" for your project, and then follow it through........let that vision be your guide.

That's what I think is missing from so many cars. People just tack on this and that, without having the faintest idea of what they're trying to accomplish. Just my 2 cents!

In any event, my best to everyone for a very Happy and Safe New Year's Holiday as well as a "Killer" 2010!

I hear ya. Take your time and DO IT RIGHT! The RUF BUG's been in the works for over FOUR YEARS! It's very difficult (and EXPENSIVE), when you tackle a project like this, and have a clear cut vision, and don't want to cut corners or "settle".

I promise you though, it's worth the wait!

And I promise you that many readers are getting really close to a heart attack due to too much tension

Again - I just can't wait to see the RUF wheel (aint this a Raid with custom RUF badge?) inside your NB PLUS anything new that might come (hopefully yesterday )

It's probably the fifth or sixth time that I tell you how much I love your NB°!

No.....not exactly. Ruf steering wheels are made by a company called ATIWE. Atiwe also happens to be the same company that makes RAID wheels, hence the similarity.

Ruf sent me an ATIWE steering wheel to "test fit" in the car, and after checking that it fit properly, sent it to one of their subs who they use to custom hand-stitch and cover their wheels. They also had the licensed RUF die to do the leather embossing on the air bag.

Thanks so much for the kind words. You can say it as many times as you like!

The wheel is being shipped to me as we speak. I'm hoping to get it installed in the next few weeks, at which point I'll hopefully post some more pics of the interior, and have a little better idea what's gonna happen as far as press/features.

I'll certainly keep everyone posted!

Ah ok - that does explain.

Well....got home today and there was a package from the UPS man waiting for me.

After months of planning, designing, shipping back and forth, discussions with RUF, I was about to open and actually hold in my hands, the first and only RUF steering wheel for a New Beetle on the planet!

I was like a kid at Christmas. Finally got the box open, dug through all the packing and took my first look! O M G !!!

The quality of this thing is just FLAWLESS. Check out the stitch work:

I mean, they even covered the Hub in Leather!

To say it's "beautiful" would be an understatement. Now I can't wait to see it installed. This will without a doubt be the "Crown Jewel" of the RUF BUG's interior!

Did you get matching leather driving gloves with it too??
Your're gonna need 'em

That thing is definitely the balls out crown jewel for the Ruf.
Can't wait to see pics after installation.
Great job Hollywood

Hope to get some pics of the wheel in the car within the next few weeks. Unfortunately, the weather here right now sux, and the roads are covered with sand, salt and mud. The RUF BUG's tucked away in the garage under a cover (snug as a BUG in a RUG - ) and ain't goin' nowhere until everything's cleaned up a bit.

Don't worry, I'm more anxious than you.........believe me!

No, no matching driving gloves, but you wouldn't believe how they matched the wheel to the leather on the RECARO SEATS. It's SPOT ON!!

They sourced it through a vendor in Germany and then Austria who was able to find the exact hides RECARO uses for their seats. RUF is something, I have to tell ya. Guess that's what you get when you deal with a company as "quality oriented" as they are!
