How are they wired? Just a simple on/off switch or are they wired with a rheostat so you can dim/brighten them?
Yes, how'd you wire them?

I haven't wired them yet. Just using the battery pack and push button switch. Not sure how I want to do it yet. I think I might incorporate it with the bud vase and tap a constant 12V source(ie. radio) and put a switch on the dash where the seat heater switches are supposed to be. Or double switch each, or switch the footwells and dim the bud vase with the interior lights of the dimmer switch. The footwell led's are bright now and if I dim them, I'm afraid the dash lights will be too dark.

Hey Joel, Those LEDs are going to be sweet!
Were you wanting a red shift boot in the same color as your cup holder?

Update: Feeling pretty much 100%. Thanks for the well wishes Tim and JonK. Rubber junk off all interior pieces. Primed and shot with color this morning. Sanding a couple runny pieces and another light coat over all of them.

New shift boot cover came today, thanks again Timmy! Getting ready to go watch my neighbor play his new Tele with a band he fills in for. Here is a teaser pic of the paint and boot cover.

Walgreen's brand Salon Formula Regular Nail Polish Remover. Bought 2 bottles and only used half of 1. Used old pot scrubbies and old green scrubby. Put the remover on the scrubbies and scrubbed away over an aluminum foil roasting pan.

How does the collar come off the shifter?

Do you have the knob and old boot off of the shifter yet?
If not, pull the lower part of the boot up from the console. Then cut the clamp loose under the boot at the bottom of the shift knob and pull up on the shift knob to remove the shift knob and boot from the shifter as an assembly. You can use a zip tie to replace the clamp when you reassemble it.
Where the boot is attached to the knob you'll see a black ring around the white base of the knob. I took two small screwdrivers and kinda work it between the two to remove the black ring, it's locked behind the white part. Then slide the old boot off and the new one on. It will be tight getting it over the base of the shift knob. Make sure the arrow is pointed fwd in relation to the knob and align the seams on each side with the line/groves on each side of the shift knob. Then slide the black ring back into place.
You can glue the boot to the lower retainer and or staple it like the factory one was. Slide the shift knob back onto the shifter shaft and use a ziptie to replace the clamp. Then snap the lower retainer back into the console. You may have to take a razor blade and cut the little square holes out in the boot on the lower retaining ring so it will snap into the console.

WOW that was a mouth full LOL

LMK if I can help or clarify any of the above gibberish LOL

So this morning started off with wet sanding with 600 grit and shooting another light layer on my interior parts. Well, that happened but so did alligator paint. Not positive why but I'm thinking it might be because I left the spray can down in the basement overnight (colder down there) and it didn't like it. Or I didn't wait long enough after the wet sanding. Now to wet sand that off with 400 grit I'm thinking and then shooting 2 more layers of red over that with 600 in between layers. Well since that went so well I decided that I would at least get my new shift boot cover on. Thanks again Tim. Great work as always.
