really like your body kit-did you install it or have it done. Was their any fitment issues.

Does the front body part just go on over existing lower grill area without trimming the nb grill.

know you miss your nb and i hope you have it soon.

Thank you Some mates of mine installed it for me. The kit is supposed to be installed with double sided tape and a couple of screw holes to hold it on but they tried that and it was a disaster. It started to fall off wherever the tape was meant to hold on. The second attempt they used body flex and a few more screws on the front bar on the lower part of the grill.

The front bar actually is mostly supported by the lower part of the grill, the top of the front bar sits flush under the fog lights. No trimming required. When I crashed the front bar ripped the lower part of the grill clean off though

I've been told its coming home early next week! They didn't realise the back of one of the fog lights was broken so they are waiting on another part.

Thanks for info -yea you would not want just tape holding it on. I think it would be easy kit to put on . The sides and back should not give any install problems.

I am looking into body kits-i really like the looks of this one -has good lines and gives nb a very clean look.

I wish i could see it in person. One question about the front part-about how far does the front spoiler stick out from grill and fender area. I could be wrong, probably am, looks like it sticks out about 5 or more inches.

You got a great looking nb-silver is tremendous looking color.

I've been really happy with it, I'd love a genuine RSI kit but until I win the lotto I'll just stick with this
Check out http://www.vizages.com/products_view.php?pid=20. Check out the qwirky spoiler!

Also have a look at HarryO's thread. http://forums.newbeetle.org/showthre...&pagenumber=12 He got a few pictures during his install. I haven't seen anyone else on here with the kit.

The centre of the bar sticks out to where the existing bumber does where the number plate is mounted above the grill. The side of the bar sticks out heaps, maybe 5" (I'm going off memory) which is a pain getting into driveways but no more so than lowered cars. The kit lowers the car body by approx 2". I've scraped out a couple of times on the corners but the body flex seems to give a bit so I haven't damaged it (until the accident ).

The side skirts install over the top of the original ones and the back was really simple. The only problem I find is cause its flexible the kit moves when I drive so the paint that covers the join between the kit and the car peels. Its only minimal so I just carry touch up paint with me when I go to shows.

Plus, you can run over it and it survives to be re-installed again! I will hunt around for better photos of the kit on my bug for you when I get home from work.

Still waiting VW are checking the air bag system now, so hopefully It will only be another week. It will be four months since the crash next week! It's been so long I'm sure I'll stall it when I finally get to drive it

So I got my bug back! It was a happy reunion until I noticed it looked like it had been beaten up by the other cars at the smash repairers Big scratches in my dash, scratches all over the new paint, my spoiler wasn't working, moisture in one light and the list goes on

Glad to hear that you got your bug back... unfortunate about what they do to your car when it's away huh? I got my oil changed yesterday and the jerk got a greasy footprint all over my carpet and grease on my door!! I took it back and made them clean it!

I'm glad you're alright after your accident though. It sounded a lot worse than it looked. I'm glad that little Bug held up well for you. I guess they may be like little caring souls... if you take care of your bug, your bug will take care of you!

Thank you! None of my friends understand my pain I'm going to 'inspect' it today so fingers crossed! The repairs are now worth more than the car is

Here are some new pic's

Its last 'operation' is on Monday to fix the ESP. 12 months and a week since the accident but its finally almost fixed!

Lol I think its a bit accident prone since it been home, the clutch went a couple of days after we picked it up so we got a new clutch and flywheel, then a couple of hours after I picked it up from having that done I ran over a huge tech screw and had to get the tyre fixed. Then a couple of days after that a stone cracked my new windscreen

I had the dash painted as it was damaged during the repairs and painted with an ugly patchy matt black I still have to do something about the centre piece though.

Pics of Singo Show'n'Shine. No trophies for my bug but I won one for the supra. First place in grass events, yeehaa

And for the first time ever there was another new beetle on display, and it was a 1.8T! Look out Fords and Holdens VW drivers are planning national domination in Oz! The red bug took out best air brushing and best display.
