Default Black 2000 TDI

Just purchased my Bug last week. Been doing some minor modding, but she really needs engine work. Probably headed to Raleigh soon to let a TDI-guru take a look. Anywho, new timing belt, water pump, injector pump, and brakes. Yellowed the fogs, installed the famous fuel harness mod, going to smoke the headlights and DRLs, and want to paint the rims. What do you guys think, green or mahogany?

EDIT: Whoops, didn't upload the pictures right! Should be good now.

Welcome to the Org! Nice pics, keep them coming. Interesting idea on painting the rims. Not sure which color I would go with. If you would fill in some personal info in your profile, like location and such, we whould appreciate it. You mentioned going to Raliegh. If you are in the NC area, you should check out the ToD gtg we have the first Saturday in May.

Thanks again for posting the pics. Looking forward to more of your pics and plans.

Thanks! Filled in my profile a little more like you suggested. My baby really needs a wash. But with rain in the forecast, it will have to wait until later this week. Well, at least I got some new hardware in her tonight, so I don't feel too bad.

Work and life have been hectic, so I haven't been very active in the community. Have been doing a few things here and there to the bug modification-wise, but nothing spectacular. But here are some pictures!

GOT NEW SHOES! Flik Arctic 17s - gunmetal faces, polished lip. Had the notorious clearcoat issues, and I've managed to get most of it off. However, I'm not sure how to refinish them- under $100 preferably. Looking to polish and re-clear them myself when it warms up, anyone else have another recommendation? (I've heard of a heavy duty wax, but wasn't sure if it works well)

Took her up to Virginia for a new-years party. She got absolutely FILTHY up there with all the snow/slag/mud! Had a good cleaning once we got back, took some good pictures, then we got snow down here too! So now she's dirty again... So mad... The skyline in the background of some pictures is uptown Charlotte.

EDIT: The wheel lips are aluminum, and my main concern is oxidation.

Time for my annual status update!

My car is in perfect running condition now (yay!). However, my younger brother decided he would back his car into my door (boo!). The shop had extra money from the insurance, so I had them repaint my bumper and wheels and give the car a good cut and buff. She looks better than ever! Went out today to take some picures. Let me know what you guys think!

Here is a link to the picture album (9 pictures - click to zoom): VW Beetle - Imgur

My next visual purchase is probably VW centercaps and maybe some 35% tint to go all around.

I really dig your soot shooter. The tint on the glass will look great with the black paint. Just want to send ya a invite to T.o.D., it's held the first weekend in May. Seeing as it's held down in your neck of the woods, we hope you will give it some thought. We have a couple other coal huffers attending, I think we are at 29 NB's on the list so far. We would love to have ya join us. Check out the link 2012 Tail Of The Dragon Cruise/ Weekend and also this one Official 2K11 ToD photo thread

Wow, from last year's pictures, ToD looks really fun! I will try my best to make it up, depending on my work schedule.

I just repainted my interior and rewrapped my headliner, and I have to say, it was a lot easier than expected. I'll upload some pictures of it tomorrow.

BillyMagnum, you can always make your own graffiti wall! By the way, Fuego is HOT! Do you have any engine mods done to your TDI?
