Default One HOT Beetle...

This "was" a friend of mines NB. About a week ago the thing burned up driving down the road. She said she had some headlight wiring "fixed" not too long before this happened...

Enjoy (or endure )

She doesn't know the actual cause, just that it was smoking from inside the dashboard and minutes later it caught fire.

That's crazy. You can tell from the pictures that it did burn from the inside out. Hope your friend is OK.

From the 2nd picture it looks like the head lights on.

If that was a head light wiring problem you would think it would have melted the head light or fire damage around the engine bay.

She said this happened only a "couple days" after she had "wiring work done to her headlight". But idk who knows what "they" did, and idk who "they" are. Something very bad must have been wrong to get that hot and not just blow a fuse or something. Very suspicious.

I didn't really agree with this initially, but if you look at the 5th photo, I think you might be correct. The drivers headlight appears to be on, hmmm...

agreed! It looks like the driver side headlight is on. Strange.

Sorry to see it happen. Definately an electrical fire, if I remember correctly, those are harder to put out and burn a lot hotter, obviously by looking at the interior.

Glad to hear your friend is ok. Sad to see she's not in a beetle again...

Guess that's why it's important to know the people who fix your car....

That reminds me.....*runs to find a spot to put a fire extinguisher in Probie...*
