Well Shrek had a small issue timing belt broke and no it wasn't because it never had been replaced I think that would be easier to take then to know that the previous owner had it done by a hole in the wall place and they only replaced the belt and nothing else..... looks like something seized up and the belt sheared all its teeth at the crank. so now comes the disassembly because there is no way the Stealership is touching her and the local VDub mechanic wants 16 hundred to 2grand to fix.

I will try to photo document all of this and post them.

Sorry to hear about Shrek. There are lots of sources of heads and parts availible on the net. Looked at buying a 1.8 with busted iming belt. Did some research. While you have it apart check the alternator pulley. They are clutched and can cause problems if they are frozen up. I am begining to suspect them in some of the problems some on the org have had.

But buying a busted motor will not get me running again or ami missing something?
Also over at the vortex some are saying I should do a whole rebuild what do you all think? I might not be able to afford that!
