Whoa! If my interior looked like that, I would not be able to look at the road! I'd be too busy admiring my pretty dash!

Now, with that in mind, you need to get a nice digicam, Al!

No doubt gurrlfriend. I really do need a good digicamera in my possession.

I wish you could see it in person. It's so cool. The color is Gold (goldmine); When the light hits it a certain way, it will have a green tinge to it- great if you had a cyber green bug. I had one pic of the dash from the windshield. Lemmie see if I can find it... Here it is...

Clear Coat: Acrylic Enamel by Dupli-Color.

I did run out of Bulldog Black for the tranny tunnel/Armrest (the jobber sent the wrong type on my re-order) So I used Krylon Fusion. Works pretty Good. But the Bulldog is top notch!!

So wadda ya think?? I'm lovin 'Cup all over again

It's off de hook! It's snizzle de izzle.

Thanx Gurrl

Yep, I did her paint by myself. The SEM company did an outstanding job on the how-to's of using their VENOM Art Fluid via their CD-ROM.

The VENOM is basically an workable medium. You add the custom paint of your choice; wether it be HyperFX, such as I used, or the other assortment of custom finishes that they offer.

You're right, the pics don't do it justice. I'm so pleased with the final result. I wanted something tastefully different without looking pimpy or ghetto. I had to repaint the center console. See on the first attempt, I applied too much gold, which is fine if that's the look you're going for. For me it wasn't; it was a very loud pimpish gold. So I repainted the center dash pod. But I ran out of my base black paint which was "BULLDOG BLACK". I placed an advance re-order but the paint jobber's warehouse screwed up and sent Bulldog Clear. This was actually a blessing in disguise.

In my haste to finish 'Cup for the Bugs 4 Breakfast meet, I decided to buy the Krylon Fusion paint. It's a good plastic paint BUT didn't marry well with the VENOM Art Fluid. The Fusion paint would peel away (not totally)as I pulled off the Plastic Wrap-the wrap is what gives you your desired marbeling FX. Anyhoo as I've stated this was a new found blessing cause as some of the fusion paint peeled off, along with the newly, lighter applied VENOM, which is supposed to, some of the initial gold would reveal itself, giving more depth to the end result.
The surface is slightly textured, but as much as some of the new cars that have that faux leather/plastic dash texture. Even so, I did sand her down some and worked her down to smoothness and a great shine.

I still have to apply the Liquid Glass polish and 'Cup will be done.

Yeah, Amy I took you the senic route just to say, yeah I did the paint job myself. I'm glad you like it. Much love to you Gurrl

Hey PheonixR,
Thanks for the props

I wasnt so sure atfirst about the new paint, but now that i see it all together, it TOTALLY kicks ass! Im so jealous! Looks really hot. But anyways, How did you take the rear seat panels out? And also, how did you take out the thing around the gear shifter? But yeah, i <3 your color...kinda reminds me of either snake skin or like...camo. kinda sorta. Its looks really cool though. NICE WORK ::claps::

Thanks ladies (JB and Rock) Us dudes haffta keep up with you moddin beetlechicks.

Sarah, actually the rear panels were a lot simpler that I expected. I'm tryin to recall cause it was late and I was in I believe day 2 of getting very little sleep. First, flip the rear seats down (of course pull the butt portion up), Then I started pulling at the bottom and started up. The came off with ease. The Bentley manual will have a more professional detail on how to do the deed. If you need, I can get the pic to ya. It's really simple though.

Rock, you've really gotta see it in person. One thing though, Camo it is definately not. It's gold but when the light shines on Her in a different way, She has this green/gold look to it. While driving and looking at the windshield, the center pod looks gold and the pod itself will have that gold/green cast to it. If 'Cup's name wasn't Buttercup, I'd might consider the name mystique of X-men fame. She does that whole presto-changeo thing workin now. I guess that fits 'Cup too. I'm just glad that it dosen't have that whole ghetto/pimpy look to it.

Thanks again for the bug love

JB, Thanks for the props. Much bug love back to ya

Hey Tate and Evliina,

Thanks for the bug love. I know I sound like a broken record but the pics don't do 'Cup any justice. She truly has that bowling ball/marbled look. Yeah, she is super HOT!!

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Today (5/1), I did some more wet sanding on Buttercup's interior: 2000 grit and some more clear coat. I think I'll call it done now and give it till the weekend to cure a bit. Then I'll apply the Liquid Glass to keep 'Cup's finish as purdy as the day she was painted.

My Girl!!! What's up kid??? I miss you too. I assumed our absence from one another was due to the fact of you setting the date, getting all the plans together and all that other stuff. Have you picked out the china patterns yet??? .

I guess i'm zigging and you're zagging these days. I'll do better and check in with ya more often. You and I are Old School (org-wise)and we need to stick together. Maybe not as old as some of the others, but old school none the less.

So you really like 'Cup??

Thanks my man Dude, you've got to see her in person. We've gotta hook up when you're in Jax again. Hopefully it won't be raining like it did last time.

Hey on your engine cover. What type of paint did you use??

Thanks again for the props.
