Hey on your engine cover. What type of paint did you use??

Thanks again for the props.

The creative wheels are turning again.... I'll keep yins posted.
I just used regular spraypaint, though I will say high temp paint would be better. My paint gets soft and dirt and sand likes to stick to it...

Tanks. I'm hoping to find some hi-temp paints in the proper colors (note my avatar), to do 'Cup's likeness on her engine cover.

That would be way cool! Let me know if you need some sticky paper for masking. That is what I do, after all!

Well i'm finally through 2000grit wet sanding and clear coating. This weekend I hope to apply the Liquid Glass polish to 'Cup. The finish should really pop then.

I did run out of Bulldog Black for the tranny tunnel/Armrest (the jobber sent the wrong type on my re-order) So I used Krylon Fusion. Works pretty Good. But the Bulldog is top notch!!

So wadda ya think?? I'm lovin 'Cup all over again
Very nice job on your bug. It looks like it took a lot of time and effort.

If you go with stripes on your engine cover, a cool idea would be an EKG stripe (HeartBeat monitor) going across it.

Or Betty Boop. Keeping in the Black Betty (love that name) theme.

I guess this idea would be a manly man idea. Ever see the snarling mouth on some of the WW2 planes. Nah forget it; I guess it really is a manly thing. My vote is for the EKG Stripe. Not too thin, not too fat.

Hey thanks for the compliments dude A lot of time, yes. And effort too. But i'm loving the end result.

Haven't applied the polish (liquid glass) yet. It should be on 'Cup first part of the week.

I've got a couple locations in mind for more photos of 'Cup. I'll keep you posted.

By the way, welcome to the org. It's good to see PA representing. I'm a southern-fried Philly boy.

Hey Sarah,

Thanks for posting on this thread. 'Cup's been feeling neglected latley.

And Hey back at cha.

Is 'Gate' putting them up for sale??? Cool. I'll have to check out the 'marketplace' thread and see what's up. I wonder if you can use that DUPLI-Color wheel paint on those wheels? Curious.

When you get into Jax, Holla.
