1999 NewBeetle TDi. 192,322mi. Avg 43mi to the gal. Two timing belt change. One alternator replacement. Two serpentine belt change. Two sets of tires. Replaced brakes twice. Countless oil changes and filter done, every four thou miles. Two accidents on passenger side, both covered by insurance. Worth a lot more to me than any KBB value estimate. Commute: 100+mi a day. I drive like theres no tomorrow. No major issues other than the Mil has been on for 8yrs now. Adopted him in 2002 with 52k mi. I love this bugg.....

Here here, they do make good commuter cars. I do 120 miles a day to work and home. Average mpg 32.5. 1.8T 6spd.
