Andrew's 2000 Silver GLS 2.0
Picked it up today, Feb 1, 2006. This is my fourth Beetle. Second 2.0 / 5-speed / 2000 / GLS even! I have a lot of work to do on this thing to make it "perfect" so to speak, and yet it will remain almost entirely stock.
 Today I removed the hoop spoiler that came with it, only two find two massive holes on each side. I will shave those and repaint the hatch here soon. I noticed the intake box was literally shattered in the back, so I found a nice K&N that a buddy had and bolted it on. A few hours later, I notice idle has become rather rough, and then I get a CEL on. I also started to polish the intake manifold. I know for a fact I won't be keeping this long. Just using it for cheap insurance, low fuel consumption, and modest reliability. The next car will get back into the fun stuff.

How about you keep it at least long enough for Bug-a-Paluza!
 I hope you get the CEL solved fast and enjoy driving it. Who knows...you just might like this one enough to keep it as a spare car when you buy the next one.
