Just adopted a black 1998 2.0L NB, his name is Rupert and he's a dirty little boy lol. He needs lots of TLC, especially on the inside. Pictures will be coming this weekend.

thanks, I think so too, he just needs to be loved alot more than his past family. I'm gonna fix him up right It'll take a little time with bills, but you all and him especially will see

Looks good to be a 98! I hate when people mistreat their beetles. That's one of my pet peeves to be honest. Can't wait to see what you do with it in the future. How many miles does it have?

it has just a couple over 102,650 miles. This morning the abuse showed itself a little with a little hiccup and a full stall. cranked a few times but just wouldn't start...tried again and it took right off and haven't had problems since. Thinking it might be the crankshaft sensor everyone keeps complaining about with these cars. Pump sounds good and primes everytime. Otherwise, other than that one incident, he is running good.

He doesn't look that bad! A good cleaning of the interior and he'll look 10x better! Hope you get his hiccup worked out.

Smurfettes doors look good but her seats in the back need some help and all of her cup holders are broken. But I still love her. He is a handsom lil man though. Wish he could meet Smurfette. The out side on her is beat up thanks to previous family's 16yr old daughter trying to learn to drive a stick and mom hydroplaning but she is still in great shape to me for a 98. He will be sexy by the time you are done. I have NO doubts. lol. Good luck and keep the pics coming.

Thanks Maybe one of these days during a show or something they will meet. I've got some plans for him, can't drive him though until I get his problem fixed, hate to be out and get stranded. Hate for him to be on the back of a flatbed getting towed back to the house too. It would probably make him feel bad lol

Well today we gave Rupert his first bath. I think he enjoyed it more than we did, he even cried a little.





His front emblem came off.


My wife and I were going to buff him but then it started to rain so here is a before shot at least of his scratches, he has them all over him.


Also called the VW Customer Care and got him a birth certificate, got it on Friday, lady that I talked to was super nice, they are still doing these so I better do Bumble before it's too late...I know, been putting it off

Thanks Gonna try to work on him after work today but not sure how that's gonna work with the weather. (no garage )
As far as the emblem, I am either gonna do the euro emblem or something else.
I'm a big fan of Resident Evil so I was thinking of this for the emblem

Then maybe the T-Virus as a pinstripe design


Otherwise, if I go with the European emblem or shave it completely and go with something like this
