No i really like my 5 speed. Although I really would like to put in "04" R32 running gear. I just don't think I will have the funds for that until I am no longer feeding teenagers. actually the real problem is I have to many interest for my amount of income. Highly modified cars (both beetles), modified bike, protective riding gear, restoration of our humble 1950's home, snowboarding and those are just the things that I am doing. There is so, so much more.

Yeah a broken tranny sucks but I certainly got my money's worth out of it at 230,000 miles, so I try not to complain...to much. I do really like this new 600. The technology that is put into it is amazing, certainly when it comes to the suspension and the tires. Fuel injection is also nice.

So just to update. Yelojkt's transmission has been fixed. Well kinda. Once I got into it a realized that putting that many miles on a tranny really likes to wear things out plus the fact that things went wrong inside ment a new transmission. So I found a good used 2.0 transmission and was going to put it in while I fixed mine, but I like the lower gearing so much that I think it is going to stay. Peloquin took care of my LSD. It has not gone back in yet but it will soon. I put in a TDI fifth to help my fuel costs on my frequent trips between Wichita and Tulsa. Well I got him going and was all ready to start really working to get him back to his former self when along comes ice on the highway overpass. It's not to bad. If I had full coverage they would have totaled it but we just limped it off the highway and put him on a flatbed to the shop. A little frame damage on the front end and dents dings and scrapes all down the drivers side. But I will be fixing him and getting him back to some of his former glory. I am still trying to decide which direction I want to take, stripped interior, more motor mods and lots of track car suspension parts or just stay with the mild tuner look.

Just read through this entire build thread and I think I'll attack some cones at our next auto-x event. My 2.slow/auto combo should equate to some embarassing times but hey, why not?
