Custom brackets. Took 2 revisions to get them right. Designed them myself out of cardboard and had a boat shop make them up.

Hey J, if I asked super nicely, will you send me a pattern for the brackets? I am gonna revamp Smaug soon, and I have got the itch for INTERLAGOS, and this just made me decide to scratch it...

That's what they look like but I really don't want to pull my seats out to take measurements but I will if they ever come out again.

So yeah not a lot of updates lately I guess, I've been busy.

Had an awesome summer with the car, worked great and this was the first year I didn't kill a single axle. I have had nasty axle binding for a long time and it was just this summer that we noticed that the dogbone was assembled wrong and it was pushing the motor ahead 2-3" :?

Anyway, I couldn't get over how much different fixing that made the car feel. It finally feels like the other "tighter"-feeling MK4's I've been driving all these years.

Anyway the only real changes the car this summer is a new much larger FMIC and I had the bumpers repainted. My usual bodyman is really old school and the shaved bumpers bubbled up pretty much right away because of chemical interaction that shouldn't have happened. I had them re-done last month at another shop that guarantees their work and has worked with plastic fillers before. Getting very excited for next year though, big plans! 8)

I'll get some new pics this weekend when I'm home and I can get the car out. But for now here's a few pics from the summer.

Great pics Jordan! Impressive is such an inadequate word to describe how hot your nB is!

Glad to hear that you've found the cure to your axle issues!

It's sad to know that Buggy will soon be put away for the winter.

Thanks! I just ordered a new (used) set of wheels for 2011 and I'll refurbish them over the winter for something to do. I'll probably keep the monoblocks and switch wheels every so often though, I really love those wheels, they're the first set I haven't wanted to sell.

Other than that, hoping to get a bit more power out of the car with more boost, meth and a fully built head with a 270 cam. I recently upgraded the intercooler to a 450hp Kinetic FMIC and it definitely hasn't helped my heat issues any so the car needs an oil cooler badly now. I'll try to source one of those along with a thermostatic sandwich plate if funds allow.

I've had a pile of parts laying around for months now that I didn't get a chance to install yet. I got a set of Audi TT spindles, ball joints and control arms along with upsized 20thAE / GLI brakes. I just never get tired of modifying this car. Every time I think it's almost done I realize I've barely even started.
