Installed a new valentine one radar detector. I connected it to the hot wire under the mirror housing. A easy install and no hanging wire.
Ive had a few radar detectors through the years but this is the best. Radar has really been out there the past few days. The detector found it every time, and showed me what direction it was coming from. If your looking to buy a detector i highly recommend the valentine one. check it out a www.valentine1.com let me know and i will be glad to share installation procedure. pic of detector |

Nice item man, but not where I would have placed it. It's looks best (and stealth) under the dash, right above the useless cup holders...

Caractere is on, but the idiots at the body shop put the mesh next to the fogs on in the reverse order so they look inside out and upside down, arg! Fresh grills en route (n/c!) from Landspeed by this Friday, so should have pics by early next week..
Kits looks awesome and exhaust sound comes from directly behind me now, a unique experience... ![]() |

dude-thats bad-know you wanted to have it this week.
didnt know you were getting the exhaust-i want to see a pic of exhaust to the tip. still in limbo on what body kit i am going to get-would like to have the beetle cup connection kit but a lot involved in installation i am giving serious thought to this kit-but not the rear spoiler-would use my present spoiler man this nb is lowered -i mean low-but it does look good Last edited by Red Rider; 02-07-2006 at 01:14 PM.. |

I also removed the chrome mirror surrounds and fat headlight surrounds cuz I felt they made the vert look a bit taller. I have en route this week, one-of-a-kind, i.e. the last pair and now discontinued, thin, flat headlight surrounds, similar to the Mini Cooper S. I will also be replacing the flat fog light 'caps' with much nicer full enclosure fog light surrounds...

Man that looks great - tremendous-the kit blends in so good.
I like the clears and also like your front clears-i just like everthing about your nbc. Also sounds good on other things you are doing. On the caractere rear is that a mesh insert in the middle. Am i right-i believe you got your exhaust hooked up to tip. |

Yeah, it's heavy steel grill mesh, painted gloss black, pretty much bullet proof. U can see in the 2nd pic above this post where the S pipe is welded to the existing muffler, i.e. I had the Turbo S style tips cut off...u can also see the Autotech hollow rear sway bar in the backgound...

I also replaced all the thin billet interior vent trim with the dimpled trim, including the Bernt pod, some from GPA, the a/c vents from bugsgogo, mucho macho:

Your kit does blend in better
I do like side skirts but i know your not high on them. The side skirt on the vizage kit i think looks good-better than a lot of sides ive seen. You get about 2" drop with the kit. As far as the pieces of the vizage kit is concerned the lines of the kit do blend together and they are made of high qualiy polyurethane. But as always with kits -how will kit look on your auto. One .org member coming home from his honeymoon ran into ditch knocked the vizage front piece off ran over it and did not damage it-he just had it painted and put back on. Some of the rest of nb did fot fair so well. I have made some more exhaust changes that would prevent me from getting rear caractere. About ready to post pics of changes. Again i would love to have the beetle cup connection kit-but a lot of work and probably some trimming involved. it gives the nb the rsi look. What is that head light trim -got a pic. Show me some nice, smooth surfaced skirts and I'll buy 'em. IMO< all the skirts I've ever seen look like Pontiac 'body-cladding'.
I suggest a Kamei rear valance for you (example shown below), it's inexpensive to buy and won't interfere with your exhaust (paint body color). Get it here: http://www.electrodyne.cc/Merchant2/...uct_Code=44277 |

I am going to give the bcc kit a good look. But since i am putting on dual exhaust-what body kit to get is going to be a difficult decision for me to make.
Billsbug and others check on styling mod. forum and let me know what you think -i have posted some pics on my thread of the dual exhaust setup. Last edited by Red Rider; 02-08-2006 at 03:41 AM.. |
