I don't remember where I got them, I know it was a site I stumbled across with lots of performance parts for other cars and a little bit of stuff for NB's, If I can find the receipt I will post where I got them. I do know they called them saddlebags.

How do you like those saddlebags? I've always been intrigued by them. Do they do what you need, and not get in the way? Does the shelf stay up, if full of stuff?

I know, I know. I ask a lot of questions!

By the way, you have a lovely New Beetle there.

they work pretty good for me, I have a small first aid kit, a pair of binoculars, extra cds and a few small tools in them. The shelf will not stay up on it's own now, but a bungie cord takes care of that. I'm happy with them, it gives me a nice spot to put those small things that would otherwise be all over the place. Now if I could only remember where I got them.....

I think Bugstuff and a few other places have the Saddlebags. They are really a great idea and i would love to own a set, but very pricey for something i could make myself or have Grandma help me make.

The Bug looks great though. What kind of intake is that? I'm always loving the people who get the 2.0 and treat it right. It's not how fast you get there, just that you get there in style.

And is that a trailer hitch?? Cool!

ok here is a link to where the saddle bags came from, unfortunatly their page is getting a redo right now http://www.saratogatech.com/
the air filter is a K&N setup that I got off ebay, it's real similar to the neuspeed setup that electrodyne lists. and yes, Heidi does have a trailer hitch. She has pulled several small boat trailers with no problems and once the weather warms up I am thinking about building a teardrop camper to put behind her. I also have the VW roof rack bars for her, but I only put them on when I need them. they make funny wind noises and beleive it or not cut the gas milage.
thanks for all the great comments, she is still a work in progress and I have a lot of fun with her.
