Resealed my injection pump last weekend at Richard55's GTG in Covington GA. Set the timing almost perfectly in the center (53) and IQBAL at 3.6 with hammer mod. Last tank 49.5 mpg.Name: ImageUploadedByAutoGuide1426864139.721579.jpg

Installed a Flowmaster 15369 exhaust tip. The turndown pipe was resonating after I removed the cat and muffler. This tip is 2.5" inlet and 3.5" dual outlets and was welded on. It helped reduce the resonance and has a deep throaty sound and can easily hear the turbo.

Installed VW logo puddle lights. $15 on eBay. Looks like a decent kit. Name: ImageUploadedByAutoGuide1427046577.578053.jpg

I removed the fuse for the interior lights. Drilled the hole with the provided hole saw. Splice the wires into the existing puddle lights and put everything back together. Did both doors in 45 minutes. I'll post more pictures after it gets dark tonight.Name: ImageUploadedByAutoGuide1427046804.037500.jpg

Did my stealth race pipe and EGR cooler delete today. I used a spare EGR with a bad diaphragm and made a srp out of it. I removed the EGR cooler.
I used the one piece hose from idparts to the heater core. I used a 18" high pressure 3/8" hose and barb for the coolant return hose. I'll never have to do this again!

When I was taking everything out I found the gasket for the EGR small hose from the EGR cooler had not been installed by the last person who did this job! I bought the car with 146k and it now has 179,500. I always wondered where the smoke under the hood was coming from!

I'm not very proud of myself at this moment. As a experienced Marine Corps helicopter mechanic and then receiving an industrial maintenance degree and working in industry as a maintenance and engineering technician for more than 20 years, all I can say is I screwed up. I was using a calibrated torque wrench. Unfortunately it doesn't help if the torque setting is the wrong one! I snapped off the bolt of the #2 injector hold down clamp inside of the head. I had the torque wrench set to 30ft-lbs. It never got close to 30ft-lbs, it was turning very easily but obviously snapped. I have sprayed Sili-Kroil into the top of the broken bolt and allowed it to sit. When I push on the sides of the bolt with a jewelers tip screwdriver, I can see the Kroil move around and the bolt looks like it is not tight in there, it appears to have some movement. I know I deserve the criticism; however, right now I would prefer your help. I'm thinking I need to use a left hand drill bit or an easy-out. Any help and suggestions to get me out of this bind are appreciated.

Bought left handed bits but before I tried the new left handed bits, I figured I would try to tap it out after 24 hours soaking in Kroil. My college freshman daughter patiently held the light for me. Took about 45 minutes. Slow. Patience is the key. I'm so thankful this worked out. Hopefully the new hardware will be at the dealer tomorrow!

So, are these injectors a upgrade that works in conjunction; with a tuning upgrade or other performance parts?

20hp and 40lb-ft torque by themselves. Pretty good gain on a stock ALH tdi (90hp 155lb-ft). With a stage 3 tune it should go to about 150hp and 250lb-ft which replicates the European version of the engine. Can add a stock European VNT17 turbo and savage 4 for even more. The Pistons, rods, crank, etc can easily handle it because it's the same as the European engine. Very popular Tdi mod. Upgraded clutch may be needed (definitely with the turbo upgrade). Many, like myself, run a VR6-G60 clutch and pressure plate.
