That's where Aaron's $500 deductible on his Collision coverage comes into play. His insurance carrier will attempt to collect on their payout (and Aaron's deductible) by going after the other driver.....that is, assuming they can collect anything. Aaron....don't you have a coverage called Waiver of Collision Deductible on you policy? This coverage waives or reimburses the deductible for incidents like this. It's standard on policies in California, as it is a companion to the Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage. Make sure you add Rental Reimbursement to your policy to cover you on the next unfortunate go-around.

Larry we do have the rental coverage, but why my agent thought $25/day would cover the rental on a van is beyond me. the $17/day is what the rental Van is costing us ABOVE that coverage. ugh,.

I havent ever heard of the Waiver of Collision deductible..

we have American National (ANPAC) for our car & Homeowners insurance.

this is the first time we have HAD to use them so we will see how it all works out in the end.

so, after 54k miles, the van FINALLY has some new shoes..

2009 Jetta TDI 16" alloys and tires. look pretty good, altho they are just a lil small. but I couldnt pass up the price.

got them in trade for some labor in the future. TDI timing belt, and suspension install. they buy parts.

Van has been running great, and its PERFECT for our large Family of 4 children.

You didn't happen to be in Georgia this past weekend did you? I saw this exact van leaving a Shell station by my house. I about flipped because I've never seen a van like this. Well, until yours. But still!!! Just curious. Why oh why did they have to come out with the Routan...I like this look MUCH better!!!
