Thanks mang. Just trying to keep up with the 'Cup.

Yeah - I'm goin' home for spring break. Mom wants to have a garage sale so I'm spending the week digging through my room. That money isn't gonna be goin' towards mods though - it's goin' towards April rent.

Looks really nice and clean, but you gotta slap some tire shine on there! Any reason why you took the bra off?

Eh... Chances of a GTG are like 20% max. I'm trying to make rent each month so there's just enough cash leftover for me to eat. Don't forget - Jax is still 3 hours from either home or Tally. We'll see though...

Thanks, Gina. I've got the Meguiar's Grape Jelly - I'm just waiting to buy one of those sponge applicators. Wal-Mart and Auto Zone were both sold out and Advance is on the other side of town. I'll get there tomorrow I swear!

The bra is only off temporarily. On the way back up to Tallahassee, all kinds of sand and dirt got behind it so I took it off. It's folded up in my trunk, and I forgot to wash it off today with the car. As soon as I get it clean, I'll slap it back on.

If letting your car hang her wet bra up in your shower isn't love, then I just don't know what is...

Disabled the DRLs today. Tried to get the snowbox off without removing the front tire, but it's not as easy as it was on the beetle so I abandoned it for when I'm home with my jack stands. Next thing I'm saving for is the GLI R/S/R/S tails, which will come after I replace the vacuum lines and get an oil change. Also, timing belt/water pump change on the horizon.

In other news, I hate tree pollen and the fact that I have to wash my car weekly just so I don't sneeze when I approach it.

Yeah, the pollen can reak havoc on the ol sinuses. Hey break out that California Duster and that'll give you a little more time in between washes.

Still, I have my snowbox on Buttercup. I need to get busy.

Less than 24 hours since my last wash, there's already a nice even coat of pollen. Mind you, the car hasn't moved between the wash and this pic and has been under a COVERED parking sructure (under our apartment). There are actually big spores like that which you can see in the air.

In other news, instead of buying the silicone vacuum lines from ECS (since the shipping was more expensive than the lines themselves), I bit the bullet and paid $8 for 1 meter of OEM vac line at the dealer. It'll do 'til I can afford the fancy stuff. I'll put that on tomorrow.

Just scooped these off eBay for dirt cheap.

I won't install them until I get side markers too, though. Half clear and half smoked would look pretty silly.

Congrats Kris on 80k

You guys worry me though. Just monitor your milage and pull over and take the pic, like I did. I don't wanna see a post that says...

I totalled my beetle at 70 while taking a pic of my odometer.

Just pull over bro.

Daddy's now through scolding. Come out and play now

It's been a while, but nothing much has changed. I'm running lightly smoked corner and side markers that match the tint perfectly in person but not in any picture. I only run the full face bra when I drive long distance - otherwise I run only the hood half. The VW emblems are off the hubcaps right now because they were falling off before I got 2 new tires and I just went ahead and took them off so that the shop didn't lose any. I'll be reattaching them as soon as I make it out to get some good glue.

I tried goin' on a photo shoot yesterday, but the weather here in Tallahassee the past week has been overcast all day and thunderstorm all night. You can tell the lighting sucks but here ya go...

The building in the second photo is the new Florida State Capitol building. The old school domed one is on the other side of it, but it's nigh impossible to get a pic of your car in front of, short of stopping in the middle of a 6-lane intersection or the 4-lane highway on the next hill.

Next to come are a sunglass holder and maybe some LED interior lights.

Welcome back bro. Missed ya round these parts. I was just through Tally this past weekend. As I was driving through, I was thinking how great it would be to bugavan through that area. I love the rolling hills of that area. I just might have to make a weekend drive that way just for that.

Got my sunglasses holder and got it installed lickety split.

after:

I wear glasses full-time, so the only sunglasses I have are clip-ons, but I still need somewhere to put 'em.

Ugh...I LOVE your car! This body style of Jetta makes me SO hot and I would seriously LOVE to own one. It's the only car that I like as much as the New Beetle and I almost wish I could go buy one...*sigh* maybe someday. I'm just afraid that by the time I'm ready for a new car, all those Jettas will be ultra high miles and really beat up...oh well, I can dream
