Default Does anyone know what kind of car this is?

This car was parked behind BHR4CE1 at a recent GTG (no intended disrespect to Frank - his new ride is AWESOME!!)

My godmother had a baby blue hardtop one of these when I was growing up and I've always wanted one. Does anyone know what kind of car this is? I'd really like to start a search for one.

Thanks!

I'm gonna' bet Nash Metropolitan, 1950's, but I haven't researched it yet.

I heard of one selling last year that was in good restored condition and the prices aren't bad at all for these. You could prolly get a very nice one under $10K

Nash Metropolitan it is.
Here in the North East, they go for a little more than that in the condition shown in the last photo. They came in 2 models, the 541 convertible, and the 542 hardtop. Altho they were built in England, they were primarily an American car. Strangely enough, the passenger side door is the one with the keyed lock. (because the Brits have right hand drive)
I have a friend here in NY, who has 3 in various stages of disassembly. He plans on making a "pro-stocker" out of one of them. You know, the rear wheel wells cut out and the gigantic tires sticking out, big v8 engine, etc...
One of the others will be restored to original.
I think two are the blue and white, and the other is the pink and white.

Cool

Lois Lane drove one on the original 1950's Superman TV series...

I'm with you. Back when I was a punk kid, I spent a lot of time looking for one of these to mess around with. Never did find one, tho.
