Default The Cheat's 1994 Jetta VR6

1994 Jetta VR6. I paid $500 for it. This car should feel lucky because it's going to be the last VW standing in my driveway. I bought a new car that is being custom-built for me as we speak. Some have an idea, some don't, but only one person knows EXACTLY what I'm getting, and she'll be the first to see it.

Some stats:
172hp/177tq
5spd manual
3.39FD
W vin code (reppin' deutschland!)
Uni-Black/Black sport leather
Dual airbags

Mods:
Neuspeed 8mm wires -came with
JOFL CAI/shield -installed 2/19/07
JOFL header-back side exhaust and testpipe
JOFL 3-gauge pod -to be installed once I find decent gauges
JOFL rear valance -in the works

Stuff done:
Valve seals (all 12)
Plugs (time to do them again, they're fouled with oil)
Ignition Switch (how if failed again, I'll never know)
Oil/Coolant flush with VW-specified fluids

Stuff to do:
New ignition switch (again)
Plugs (again)
Brake fluid flush
Heater core
Pads/rotors -F+R
finish exhaust/valance
notch driver's side skirt for that factory look

Plans and stuff:
lose 2" of height
retro accents
whitewalls
97-99 lower dash conversion
airbag delete
get an antenna
mk3.5 red interior lighting/cluster

Anyhoo, here's a teaser pic or two from the guy's place...can you believe that's his driveway? there was like 20 cars in it, no lie.

Actually, other than a drop, new wheels, and a new left front fender, nothing really.

This is gonna be my daily driver, so I figure sweet and simple...but i'll probably change my mind.

I have christened the Jetta "Big Momma." Why, I cannot say on the forums, but trust me, it's funny.

I just ordered new spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and brake fluid from Germanautoparts.com . I figure, if I'll be driving it a lot, might as well do it right.

I'll order the new ignition switch in the AM as well.

Already, I flushed the coolant with G12 and added fresh M1 0w40. That alone made a HUGE difference.

You know, I really wanted one of those for a long time but I could never get over the strange (small) wheel-well size.. it kind of threw off the hot lines of the car ! But. sweet find!

LOL when I bought my GLX VR6 back in 1998, I was sooooo excited about my 15s!!!! LOL boy times have changed, and they only started looking "odder" the older the car got.... but I guess wheel size doesnt matter, when you have a VR6 in a beautiful boxy car like that.

The mk3 was the sexxiest car I ever had, tops the bimmer I even had. You cant beat that car, and the space to transport in that trunk is amazing! Gosh, Im soooo jealous of Justin!

*cue treadmill video*

here it goes, here it goes again...

this car reminds me of my first VR6 (94 T-Red Jetta auto) so much. THIS is exactly what i wanted in high school, and i got it 6 years later. i'm going to mod it just how i would have in high school i've decided, so that i can make the car i always wanted.

i have a damn soft spot for these little boxes, it's not even funny. was looking at pics of tori (my red 94), and i was imaging her in black, and i got misty-eyed because i was supposed to get a black stick, but my mom decided i should have a red automatic. i miss that little booger, so this car is a tribute to it.

so, i'll be dropping it, rolling it on retro beetle steelies, flowmaster muffler, and smoking everything out. it's what i would have done in high school, and i think it'll still look good 6 years later.
