Default The Cheat's 1987 Audi 4000S!

Here's the other free car, still in Vermont. It's not drivable because it popped a metal brake line while we were trying to free the rear brakes.

Here's some pics though, just because.

Here's some background and specs on it:

1.8l "GTI" motor (code JH)
5-speed close ratio manual gearbox
full power options
gauge package

The car has 112k miles on it, and is need of some TLC and maintenace. The body is solid and pretty much rust-free. It'll make a great daily or fun car.

Well, it looks like I'm gonna be able to get her home soon. I can get a metal brake line from my buddy to get it back. I'm awaiting paperwork to register her, and then she'll be home safe where I can work on her and bring her back. I will need to find some seats though...the stock seats are in my Fox and they're not coming out.

I may actually have to park Missy for a bit and drive this around...nah, I'll keep them both on the road. That way I have my choice. Choices are good. Once I have the new title, I'll decide how deep I want to go into her.

As it stands, she needs:

-front seats
-new brake line
-probably new brakes all the way around (I'm bringing it to Midas for this one...they have NO clue what they're in for muahahahaha...those rear drums are rusted onto the backing plate)
-seatbelts (PO took them out for a buddy's car)
-reinstall gauges
-tuneup
-usual happy horse**** that goes along with getting a 20-y/o car road-worthy

but...she's got no rot on her and she sounds very healthy. mechanically, aside from the brakes, she's a solid car...just needs reassembly.

It comes home this week! That is, if daddy-o doesn't need the truck or his tow bar.

Two odd-school dubs...woohoo!
