Default Growlers Golf TDI.

Well, Here it is. it is a 2001 Golf GL (Base) model TDI.
Crank Windows
Joysticks for the side mirrors
basic. I love it!

Very clean 2-owner car.
German manufactured ("WVW" VIN).
Indigo Blue with very clean black cloth interior.
5-speed.
108K miles.

New OEM exhaust rear section (Cat is removed, not sure why)
New Glow Plug Harness (not installed, yet)
Alpine head unit w/JL amp and subwoofer
Fresh Elf DID oil change
New front rotors (not installed)
New ball joints
New tie-rod ends
Eibach Pro-Kit springs with Bilstein TC shocks (nice 1-1.5" drop)
16" x 7.5" Borbet Type S wheels
New timing belt and water pump at 102K (mark & Pray method UGH! :Banghead: )

The timing was off the chart advanced so I took the car to MOGolf from the TDI club (he lives close) and he got it in spec first try...

put its first replacement cabin filter in. (ewwww)
Cleaned the snowscreen out

will be going back to MOGolfs place for a physical cam timing check with the tools to make sure its all good next week.

I know I know.. on with the pics..b

Matrix & I went to Visit Dr. MoGolf today..

Surgery went very well.

fixed a couple of issues that popped up over the last week or so.

Was throwing a Glow plug code since day one. (replaced 2 dead Glowplugs)

Thursday Matrix popped a Charge Pressure control Negative Deviation code and his Boost looked like CRAP.

so...

today Dr MoGolf & I went at it and we:

Removed & Cleaned the intake
Replaced the two dead Glowplugs
Found the cause of the negative deviation code.. The VNT Actuator was dead.. held zero vacuum.. Luckily he had one on the shelf and was able to part with it. YAY I have a turbo!
Exchanged my good EGR for an original Dieselgeek Green Anodized Race pipe.
YAY no more clogged intakes.
PICS!

And up close!

EXTRA BIG THANKS to our local GURU MoGolf and for all he does for us! He is a saint!

Aaron.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

No they arent. Stock this car would have come with 15" steelies since it is a base base model, crank windows, manual mirros, no armrest. I think the only option on the car is the TDI motor.

and I love it.

The wheels are BORBET Type S in 16" and they wear the same size tires as the NB, 205, 55 R16

Here is a link to Tirerack on them

I like them a lot too.

Also, I am sooo happy I was able to get my Plate back.. GOT SOOT
