Today, I scanned pictures of my actual former cars. Well, most of them. The pic of the brand new 2002 Explorer I had ditched for my first New Beetle, was way too dark. It didn't have too much love, I guess.


My orange '73 Datsun station wagon, bought for $200. This car, oh man. I had to pull the ignition out, start it with a screwdriver, then tuck the ignition back in. Always had to double-clutch. Every time I got in, I prayed that it would start. In this pic, we were actually on our way to San Francisco, from home in southern Oregon . I had asked my Mom to not get the dented front fender in the pic. (Me waving, my brother Tom driving, he died one and a half years later of cancer )

My '77 Celica. My favorite car until I got my New Beetle.

Actual picture of my first car, '69 Pontiac LeMans. Got into trouble because of this car (pregnant..... )

My first "new" car, 1988 Nissan Sentra. Had this car for 8 years, never any trouble. New, and after new wheels.

Now, VW forever!

Sorry about your Sentras. It's sad to see those "dead" pics.

I just bet, my old one is still out there. Never had any issue of any kind in the eight years I drove it. I sold it to my brother and sister-in-law. No problems with them either.

I need to find a pic of the '77 Monte Carlo I had. I highly doubt that is now anywhere on the road. Well, maybe the engine is. The car ran awesomely, but the body was rotting off.

I can't say I miss (or was attached to) any of my former cars. Now, I'd have a hard time parting with the Beetle though.

I hope to find more of the others I had. The rusty brown '77 Monte Carlo, silver 1996 Taurus, red 1998 Taurus.

That Celica was an awesome car. I had a buddy in school who had the little two door version, the kind with basically no back seat, you know, with a trunk.

Sporty car though.
