I could say more, but having said that and given your health issues you are battling, bottom line is that you can't take it with you so you might as well enjoy it today....a philosophy I stand by. Many happy miles with your new ride!
Well, In The Truth Be Told Department, the Hybrid Highlander, while still much better MPG then a standard Highlander, here in Texas at least, was suffering lower MPG because of the Heat. In Florida, I got around 30 or so, but it is cooler there then here, with hardly a day over 95˚. Here, we have had several weeks over triple digit temps. So my (average) MPG was down to sometimes 20! Yikes! And given the Tang will average about the same, give or take, in that area I am not doing any worse with Actual Gas Used.

But I want to be as honest as I can; when I am at a light, and the gas engine in the Tang is still going, (which it does not do in a Hybrid), it does pollute the air. I will have to get over that. I do know, as I drive around, I an driving like I have a Hybrid still. Not driving fast, not accelerating fast, slowing down well before the lights, gliding when I can...so much so, that when I got gas today (to check the MPG), I got over 23 MPG!

I expect to average around twenty in the city, so that was nice.

But thanks for the congrats; I appreciate it Larry!

Indeed, it might be. That would mean I have to live to at least 86 now.

Very nice TJ. Doesn't it feel good to buy American? I like my Chevy truck (except for the MPG, I admit)--it is the first domestic vehicle ever with my name on its' title.

P.S. I have said that I may go back to VW some day, keep the truck for work and use a car for everyday driving--maybe a GTI, but, after seeing the new Camaro and the price that will be on the V6 model, realizing its' MPG is gonna be very similar to a GTI, and knowing it will cost less too...I understand and I will not razz you over leaving behind your hybrid--someone else will be driving it and someone would've drove that Stang if it wasn't you, so net effect on the environment? nada. Enjoy.

Why, thank you Bill. That was indeed kind.

I still say, if VW gets to a Hybrid over here, like a TDi, I would love to get one. That would be awesome.

But you know, like Al wants to keep his VW for life? I think the same can be said for this Mustang. That is my goal. I think other cars may come and go, but I really want to hold onto Boaz.

What was unexpected, at least for me, was how fast the dealer, dealt. I mean, they couldn't hand me the keys fast enough. If it wasn't Ford Certified Pre-Owned, and with that nice warranty and all, I might have been worried that they were trying to unload a lemon. I mean, one hopes that is not the case.

Thanks mang. How do I do it? Good question. I asked, and they were eager to respond. For once, in a long while, I had the thing that someone else wanted. Like, I know Hybrids are hot right now. But what if gas (I wish), were to drop below, say, $3 a gallon? Heck, even if gas stayed at $3.25 or less, I bet in this country, the average person would rejoice, thank their lucky stars, and suddenly the Hybrid Craze would be over. I got this deal done, because they wanted to sell a Hybrid, and not a gas consuming car.

When I asked for an even swap, that was all I expected. But, not to be too religious here, but I do think that God had me wait, to be patient all these years when I could have got a Mustang but held off, to bless me at this time, when I needed it the most.

Call it Cosmic Karma if you wish, but I just feel really lucky.

Hope the feeling lasts for a while, and I don't end up with a

Fix
Or
Repair
Daily

car!!

And thanks to you for holding the secret for a bit. On the internets, that is hard to do.

I decided that I should list my cars, again, here. Just to see how and what I have had over the years.

I'm not going to chastise you for choice TJ. You got exactly what you wanted and I can respect that.

(Now if I could only convince the wife that I need an R32, life would be great!)

I want it to stop raining, at least so I can detail the car, and take some pics outside.

Here is Boaz inside my garage, after a detailing by Keith...

Not the greatest of pics. Sorry.

I have had in my cars, each of my cars, a Pooh Bear.
Imagine when I was almost 400 pounds, and looked like a Hells Angel when I wore all black, with a black leather ranger coat...you know the kind, goes all the way to the ground almost. And there I was, tough as nails looking, but with a Pooh Bear in my car.

My wife, when she met me oh so many years ago (17 now), she said that the first time she got in my car, she knew I had a soft heart because of that.

She nicknamed me Pooh Bear because of it. I nicknamed her Christopher Robin because he was always with Pooh.

I did have one ripped off from me. In my Jeep, I had one larger, Velcro-ed to the dash. And I used to drive that Jeep sans top a lot.

So one day, I went into someplace in Miami, and when I came out, the Pooh Bear was gone. The stereo? Still there. The CB radio? Still there. But not the bear. I like to think some one stole it for their kid that may not have had one.

I got another.
