I put on my Boaz Mustang Plug & Play Sequential Tail Lights.
http://store.mrt-direct.com/ That is who makes them. ![]() ![]() ![]() I think they not only look good, but offer a safer way to notice that I am braking, or signaling. And since they were an option at one time for the Mustang, I feel as if I am enhancing the retro styling of the car; helping the car in the direction it already is in. |

I thought they were only an option on 60's T birds and Mercury Cougars. |

Sequential turn signals were factory fitted to Ford Thunderbirds built between 1965 and 1971, inclusive, to Mercury Cougars between 1967 and 1973, to Shelby Mustangs between 1968 and 1970. No other production cars were so equipped, initially due to the cost and complexity of the system. --From the WIKIPEDIA Two different systems were employed. The earlier, fitted to the 1965 through 1968 Ford-built cars, was electro-mechanical, featuring an electric motor driving, through reduction gearing, a set of three slow-turning cams. These cams would actuate switches to turn on the lights in sequence so long as the turn signal switch was set. This system was complicated and prone to failure, and therefore the units are non-functional in many surviving cars. Today they are computer driven, as mine are; and in 2010, when the ‘new’ Mustang comes out, it will once again be on the car. |

I've got a buddy that has a '97 Mustang Cobra (Mystic paint!) that installed the sequential turn signals years ago. I thought they flashed too slow, but it's still cool!

Did you know, (I did not), that at one point they were illegal to flash? Here is what the WIKIPEDIA said: U.S. Federal and Canadian motor vehicle safety standards currently prohibit sequential turn signals. However, Federal standards do not apply to vehicles in use, and so extension of this prohibition to vehicles in use is left as a matter of choice for each state or province. --- And further research on my part indicates that it must be legal now, otherwise, why would Ford be putting them as standard equipment on the 2010? ![]() |

Someone here said I should tint the windows, so I did. It's all legal here in Texas, as in, I got what was legal for the doors, and limo tint on the rear and those 'windows' in the back.
It's mighty dark, but again, all legit. Given the cooler temps right now, it will take longer to cure. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Tanks mang!
I need to get a good Christmas type shot...you know, for s certain magazine cover...hint hint. Thanks Justin! I love it, but I can't wait till it 'cures' all the way. SUPER dark in the back right now. At night, all I see are the lights of the cars behind me. Which in a way is nice; no blinding lights, really. But on the other hand, let's just say I am glad I have the back up camera, otherwise, me see nothing out that back window when I am backing up. So any suggestions as to what to shoot Boaz next to, for a Christmas type of setting here in Texas, where it may be cold, but no snow? |

![]() You'll find the tint keeps the car cooler in the summer too. We always do tint and like you, limo tint behind the driver with the darkest allowable left and right of the driver. In the south it really is a necessity. I'm not sure if it's age related but if we drive at night, I'll have to drop the front windows for looking left and right at intersections. Looks good |

I love tint too; I have had it on all my cars. In South Florida, it would cure in about a day. Here, with it cooler right now, I wonder how long it will take to cure. It's getting better now. Hopefully soon it will cure! Thanks again for the idea! |

So, inspired by Steve_pnchbug and his Rag Top Stang, I went out and (finally) got these cool TAIL LIGHT TRIM BEZELS, and BRAKE LIGHT TRIM.
Here are the pics! ![]() ![]() Pretty keen, if I do say so myself! |
