Thanks mang! I can't believe it sometimes my self. It's a bit weird. I mean, I love my car, but all the time, and I mean, all the time, from complete strangers, woman, men, old, young, I hear 'I love your car!' and 'I love the color!'

It's something else. It really is.

And I think part of the fame is generated by your awesome magazine artwork. I need to thank you again for that.

I put on my Boaz Mustang Plug & Play Sequential Tail Lights.
http://store.mrt-direct.com/
That is who makes them.

I think they not only look good, but offer a safer way to notice that I am braking, or signaling. And since they were an option at one time for the Mustang, I feel as if I am enhancing the retro styling of the car; helping the car in the direction it already is in.

I thought they were only an option on 60's T birds and Mercury Cougars.

Sequential turn signals are a feature on some past-model cars whereby multiple lights that produce the rear turn signal do not all flash on and off in phase. Rather, the horizontally-arrayed lamps are illuminated sequentially: the innermost lamp lights and remains illuminated, the next outermost lamp lights and remains illuminated, followed by the next outermost lamp and so on until the outermost lamp lights briefly, at which point all lamps extinguish together and, after a short pause, the cycle begins again. The visual effect is one of outward motion in the direction of the intended turn or lane change. This implementation has generally been found only on American cars that use combination red rear brake and turn signal lamps.

Sequential turn signals were factory fitted to Ford Thunderbirds built between 1965 and 1971, inclusive, to Mercury Cougars between 1967 and 1973, to Shelby Mustangs between 1968 and 1970. No other production cars were so equipped, initially due to the cost and complexity of the system.

--From the WIKIPEDIA

Two different systems were employed. The earlier, fitted to the 1965 through 1968 Ford-built cars, was electro-mechanical, featuring an electric motor driving, through reduction gearing, a set of three slow-turning cams. These cams would actuate switches to turn on the lights in sequence so long as the turn signal switch was set. This system was complicated and prone to failure, and therefore the units are non-functional in many surviving cars. Today they are computer driven, as mine are; and in 2010, when the ‘new’ Mustang comes out, it will once again be on the car.

I've got a buddy that has a '97 Mustang Cobra (Mystic paint!) that installed the sequential turn signals years ago. I thought they flashed too slow, but it's still cool!

Mine flash, well, um, hard to say, since I am in the car...but I think they flash at the right speed...

Did you know, (I did not), that at one point they were illegal to flash? Here is what the WIKIPEDIA said:

U.S. Federal and Canadian motor vehicle safety standards currently prohibit sequential turn signals. However, Federal standards do not apply to vehicles in use, and so extension of this prohibition to vehicles in use is left as a matter of choice for each state or province.
---

And further research on my part indicates that it must be legal now, otherwise, why would Ford be putting them as standard equipment on the 2010?

Someone here said I should tint the windows, so I did. It's all legal here in Texas, as in, I got what was legal for the doors, and limo tint on the rear and those 'windows' in the back.

It's mighty dark, but again, all legit.

Given the cooler temps right now, it will take longer to cure.

Thanks Justin! I love it, but I can't wait till it 'cures' all the way. SUPER dark in the back right now. At night, all I see are the lights of the cars behind me. Which in a way is nice; no blinding lights, really. But on the other hand, let's just say I am glad I have the back up camera, otherwise, me see nothing out that back window when I am backing up.

So any suggestions as to what to shoot Boaz next to, for a Christmas type of setting here in Texas, where it may be cold, but no snow?

Find someone with a Christmas yard display that has a sleigh with reindeer. Try and line Boaz up as to block the sleigh but still looks like the reindeer are pulling the stang.

You'll find the tint keeps the car cooler in the summer too. We always do tint and like you, limo tint behind the driver with the darkest allowable left and right of the driver. In the south it really is a necessity. I'm not sure if it's age related but if we drive at night, I'll have to drop the front windows for looking left and right at intersections. Looks good

That is a great idea! I may do that.

I love tint too; I have had it on all my cars. In South Florida, it would cure in about a day. Here, with it cooler right now, I wonder how long it will take to cure. It's getting better now. Hopefully soon it will cure!

Thanks again for the idea!

I didn't know you lived in S.Fla. before Texas. We spent a good stint in Naples till hurricane Wilma chased us out

Yeah, Wilma sent us packing as well...at least the after effect. At the time, I bought a house that was due to close on the day Wilma hit. I closed a week later. I should not have closed on that house. Now I can't sell it; over a year and half it's been on the market there, and I have reduced the price to 60% LESS then what I paid for it.

Oy.
