Why why why would you ever get rid of that 356? Or do you still have it?

I was young and stupid. Bought the '59 Porsche in 1966 for $750 and sold it 2 years later for $600 - they were just "used" cars back then - little did we know.

If I had it now ....oh well.

Of course you gotta love the bath tub. The B-GT is nice too and I've been looking for a good one to daily drive here in the SC midlands. They make a nice retrofit A/C unit for the B series now that doesn't suck up alot of power.

I owned the B GT for 13 years when we lived in the Orlando area. It was quite toasty in the summer - if it had been a roadster I probably would have kept it.

Naahhhh. Something would have come up that you needed the money for. That's what always happens. That's why I don't still have my MG-TD, my MG-TF with fuelie Vette engine, my Sunbeam Tiger, my Jag MkII sedan, my 356B Deitren Roadster, or the 660 feet of waterfront I had on Lake Tuscaloosa.... young and stupid? been there and done that!

They definitely had character back then. The yellow SAAB had 2-stroke 3 cylinder
that was heavily modified - (3 carbs, 3" exhaust) that loved Sunoco 260.
A couple of years later we installed it in the blue SAAB (minus the 3 carbs) as it moved us to FL.

Below was our hero - Erik Carlsson winning the Monte Carlo Rallye
