Default my old vert

this is the 1973 vert i had for 15yrs but had to dell due to health problems

it was sold to a nice guy in germany who came over hear to the UK to pick her up 3yrs ago

i have had 3yrs without a VW and just got my new vert with auto box

this old vert had a 2100lb clutch so was impossable for me to drive any more

its was fast doing standing 1/4 mile in low 16s

Sweet, sweet, sweet. There aren't many curved windshield VW's I like but this one is a stand out. Love the look of the Porsche fan shrouds. Thanks for posting

these arent my cars....im good friends with the guy who owns the 79 vert and a 57 oval that pres. kennedy supposedly rode in and a cabrio...

because they look very similar and show how few and far between nice black cars are around...personally i wouldnt have a black car but thats besides the point...sorry for the thread hijack...

no problem hears a picture of the inside

and robbery stone guards not the cheap tin ones like on that black vert with white walls

OMG! I absolutely LOVE your car!
I am so jealous. I have always wanted an old Black or Navy Blue convertible Beetle, no particular year. Yours was GORGEOUS! I am so sorry you had to sell it.

They're "Robri" gravel guards made originally by Robri in Belgium. Robri has long since gone out of business but the tooling was bought and they are plentiful again. The difference in the feel over the chinese knock offs are that the Robri repops are still made with 98% pure pewter.

i had that car for 15yrs and it always had the guards on and the foot scrapper plates you can see

it also had Italian spec indicators orange from the side clear at the front never saw them on any other bug

and the eimpi gas cap surround not Sean very often

Alot of people don't realize the original Robri gravel kits were 5 pieces. 1 for each fender and as you said, a foot scraper for the drivers side running board.

I had an NOS set in the original Robri box I sold about 5 years ago. They fetched about $400 then.

i got the extra one a a auto jumble
