Default Just a few of my rust buckets

The orange 68 Chevelle was my first car that I drove to and from highschool. My dad and I built the 350 for it, after I highschool I saved enough money to build a 396 for it. There are some pics of the swap in progress but the car has since been put back together.
The 2nd car is of my 72 Chevelle that I purchased really really cheap. I do have the doghouse for it and I have replaced the passenger quarter and I currently have the drivers side quarter cut off with the new quarter waiting to be welded on when I get a good day.
The last car is my hot rod. I am going to leave it unchopped and it curently sits on a model A frame. It is going to be a highboy. That picture is about 2 years old and since then I have patched the cowel panels with new steel and welded up some holes on the fire wall for a cleaner look. I have also hot rodded an original 28-29 model A grille shell and have fitted a fiberglass deuce (32 ford) dash to the car.
Ill get some more pics posted up of the progress I made on my cars if anyone is interested.
Enjoy!

Good looking '68 Chevelle - and we'd enjoy progress photos of your rod as well.
Is the Mustang also a future project?

Thank you very much and Ill get some progress pics up when I get the chance.
The mustang in the background used to be my sisters that I bought my bug off of. Once she had kids she had to sell it, my Dad bought it from her but we ended up selling it before last Christmas came around. We made sure to get the go ahead from her first.

Nice American iron. It's always been my opinion that the 68/69 Chevelles never got the attention they deserve. It seems you hardly ever see 68's rolling around. Same thing with the early A's. Not enough folks leaving them unchopped and you rarely see a 2 door sedan high boy. I like where you're going.

The duster is a 1973 slant six car. It did run and drive when my Dad owned it. He decided to sell it because even restored it would be hard to turn a profit. It was a pretty solid car that needed only minor sheet metal replacement. The subframe was intact and the trunk floor was still there with its original paint.

My Dad and I were very selective when it came to the buyer.

We turned down someone who wanted to cut it up for just the firewall. The car was pretty solid.

The other guy wanted it for a parts car.

The third person was the person who my Dad sold the car to. He is a mopar fan and has a Cuda, some chargers, and a challenger. His plans are to restore the duster and not cut it up or use it for parts.

Lol, thanks.

Here are some more pics, they are in progress pics.

Drivers quarter cut off, waiting for a nice day to finish it

Passenger quarter welded on this past summer

Model T cowl patch welded in with minor body work done to it

Passenger side of cowel patch welded in with no body work

Stock 1926-27 T dash

32 ford dash, fiberglass repro.

Had to add fiberglass to the dash to fill the gap that the new dash did not cover

It is a shame.
Kind of odd too, I have seen some other 26-27 T dashes with a hole about the same size in the same location. There might have been some kind of aftermarket gauge that might have been popular back in the day. Maybe a speedo....?

Factory speedometers were discontinued around 1912-13 till model A production. Most likely an aftermarket Stewart speedo. They were always placed to the right of the ignition switch/ammeter.

Sorry, I just now noticed that post or I would have replied sooner.

Yeah 68s are kind of hard to come by especially true SS cars. I would like to restore the one I have back to completly stock condition, even though it was a white car with a vinyl top and only a 325 horse 396 car
This summer I hope to repaint the 68 with a less flashy color such as the nassau blue with no racing stripes.

As for the A's, youre right you really never see a stock one. I can probably count on my hand the amount of times that I have ever seen a stock A. I would love to get me one and restore it back to stock specs.

The model T that I have is cut in two pieces (front and back) the car is pitted and the doors are really bad but salvagable (more like I can not find doors) As of now the back half is sitting on a stock model A frame that I will box to make it stronger and get it ready for the whole car to be put on it.

I would love to make it a stocker but it would cost more than the car would be worth to restore it considering its condition. It is really just a carcas that is rusted out. Great for hot rod material but I am more on the conservative side when it comes to modifications. I do not like to do things to a car that can not be undone. That being said it will stay unchopped so that maybe it could be restored to stock if I ever get the chance, money, resources, and a different car to hot rod. I want a hot rod more than I want a stock car right now but dealing with 80+ year old tin I will keep mods to a minimum. Really the only mod to the car will be metal floors and a roof. The rest of the body will remain stock.

Thanks for the info on the speedos. I didnt know that the earlier Ts had speedos that they fazed out later on. Thats always good to become more knowledgable

Well, I haven't been on here in a long time. There are numerous reasons but the main one is my time and money being put into my hot rod project. I have only been working on this thing for about 8 months now and its my first hot rod build. She will get paint but not until spring time Here are a fews pics for all to enjoy...

Old Frame

Frame after cutting, welding, boxing, and primer

Back half of body which was like this when I bought it

Body joined back with front cowl via welding & fab. work

Hot rod as it sits now
