Placed an order on my first mod. A USA Spec iPod interface for the Monsoon radio. Can't wait to get it, no more cassette adapter.

As of 6:40 this evening, I went off the road at a blind corner, and got my car airborne through a barbed wire fence, no major damage. The car is going to have to be repainted from the scratches, appears to be a broken power steering line but thats the only mechanical problem.

Thankfully neither you nor the car sustained much damage. Hopefully Keira will be up and running soon.

Update:

I spoke with Allstate yesterday, they are sending out a claims adjuster either tomorrow or Monday, Tuesday, to quote up the damages and are letting me pick a body shop of my choice. I'm going with WagenWerks in Atlanta, I know the owner, and their quality is top notch.

The power steering problem was a slightly bent fitting on the lower part of the pump connecting the main hose to the reservoir, I fixed it myself but need to purchase some VW approved steering fluid to get the car in 100% mechanical operating condition again.

I hope to get the car out to the body shop next Saturday.

My damage report
complete drivers side, the whole roof, hood, a little bit of the hatch and rear bumper need to be repainted. A new complete front bumper and grill, a drivers side headlight, drivers side mirror assembly, and possibly a windshield it has tons of hairline scratches from the barbed wire, a drivers side tail light has many deep scratches. And a new antenna with base mount. Oh yeah, and 2 metal black trim pieces on the top of the roof.

Gosh I hope you can get her fixed soon. Poor thing. Good thing they are letting you pick your own body shop though. That way you can make sure the work is done and done well! Keep us posted.

Just FYI, it's against federal law for an insurance company to demand you go to any specific body shop for repair. It's called "steering" and is not allowed. They may disallow a specific shop due to price but given 3 quotes, they need to pick one of yours. I hope you get your baby fixed like new Kev.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Hey all, I've been pretty quiet lately, as I've not had my car for a while it's still at the shop getting fixeded. I should be getting it back this coming weekend, hopefully all will be right again. I'll let you all know.
