Herbie and Elwood's new star car cousin
I finally got a lead on a good deal for one. So I picked up a 2009 Ford Mustang Bullitt. Mine's #6045 of 7000 and oddly enough was one of the absolute LAST highland green metallic Bullitt Mustangs left for sale. I've got a few dress up goodies in mind, but nothing crazy. Only to enhance the mystique of the car. Otherwise since it's a special edition I don't want to modify it too much. Plus it comes with a ton of Ford Racing parts installed on it from the factory. Here's Bullitt in the garage with Elwood.

Sweet car!
 Wait. Ford Racing sells a CAI w/ a K&N type air filter?!? Won't that foul the MAF?  Or is it just VW MAFs which are susceptible? Doesn't the stock airbox and paper filter flow all that is needed?  Sorry, just wanted to throw out a few jabs at the K&N haters on the forum. That V8 has got to sound uber-sweet breathing through that!

From what I've been hearing, and I may be wrong. The Bullitt is the first car to have a CAI set up from the factory. It's a cone filter, but it's still a paper one. A few guys over at the Bullitt registry found a K&N what is pretty much identical in size, so I'm going to put one in as soon as I can get my hands on one.

That is my dream car combo! I have always loved the pony. I live on a dirt road that doesn't allow me to have a pony car, but i will have one some day....

Hi Albert!
Great car! It's prolly the only Stang I would want. I think it's got exhaust system that tries to match the original car's sound. Nice and deep. Very cool.

I had the Bullitt out to its first show last weekend for an all Ford powered car show put on by the local mustang club. I ended up winning 2nd place 2005-current stock. Now I know this car was destined for me since I did the same thing with Elwood at his first show.

we ran into a guy on the way to roswell at the rock cafe in stroud oklahoma , he and 3 buddys (all mustangs ) were heading east to a mustang show ,, but he had a bullitt also ,, we talked for a few minutes ,, very nice car and sounds fantastic ,,

Got some interesting news on the Bullitt finally. Ford has finally released full production figures for 08 and 09s. It was originally announced that in 08 at the launch that 7700 Bullitts would be built. 08 ended up being a tank for the auto industry and only about 5800 were made. Carrying over to 09, Ford only produced 810 Bullitts. With a final break down of 629 Green 181 Black. So I think that makes the 09s a little more desireable in my book since there were so few made. But that's pretty cool 1 of 629 Bullitt and #6045 of 6582 made.
